Feature requests, ideas and suggestions

We are continually upgrading Trainerize with new features based on your feedback. Please add a new idea, or vote on an existing idea. This ensures your ideas don't get lost and always visible and other trainers can upvote your ideas. The idea forum allows us to keep a pulse check on what our trainer community as a whole wants.

Why should I vote?
This forum allows us to more accurately prioritize ideas to ensure a system of fairness by executing on improvements needed more urgently by a larger cohort of our trainer community, in order of voting priority. It offers you transparency into what we're reviewing, starting and have completed.

Vote subscribes you to the idea so when its status changes, you'll get notified. 

When does an idea get picked up?
The higher the votes, the more likely the idea will be completed but there is no fixed formula if an idea will be picked up as it is just one avenue we look at. The idea forum is only one of the many avenues we use to evaluate an idea's feasibility. We also factor in your conversations with our support team, in-app surveys, Facebook beta groups,  complexity of the idea, talks with our inner circle of trainers and how it fits with the overall vision of Trainerize.

For example, "Portuguese support" was for the longest time in our top 3. But embarking on that would significantly dent our ability to serve our primary English speaking community effectively.

  1. Ability to create and automate todo tasks / reminders within Trainerize

    As I'm writing notes on my clients file post call, is there a feature where we can set ourselves a reminder to follow up with them from a note? Or even a reminder at all?
    I currently set them in my calendar but would prefer to keep everything in one spot!

    Also, when payments fail, or programs are ending, be able to remind me to follow up with clients.

  3. Woman / female / more diversity in trainer doing exercises

    I have a female clientele base and women like to see other women doing the exercises in the exercise library.

  4. Ability to build a workout directly on a day (WOD)

    Directly build and schedule a workout on a particular day. Being about to build specific WODs to keep things interesting for clients.

  5. CrossFit-style for time workouts

    Ability to time-cap a workout and have the atheletes put in the time taken for that workout

  6. Allow free trial option with credit card

    This is good to get new customers to sign up themselves. People would like to try before spending their money. A few days or one week free trial will be an awesome feature.

  7. Senior (55+) exercises

    Seniors have different needs. The aging body and various medications limit what can be done. Chair exercise would be one example.

  8. Timed supersets

    Timed Supersets would be great. for example
    4:00m timer
    Superset
    Goblet squat x10 reps
    Goblet lunge x10 reps


    This gives a HELLUVA different experience when programming and tracking workouts.

  9. Progressions WITHIN a workout

    Would be great to be able to make progressions WITHIN a workout without having to copy/paste and do it manually. Right now, all sets have to be the same - would be awesome if we could have (for example) the ability to assign different reps/time/goals across the same circuit

  11. Allow for timed sets instead of only reps...ex squats for 1 min

    Sometimes i like to set a client to hit a specific number of reps and for some exercise i would love to be able to say 5 sets each lasting 1 min

  12. Format Trainerize to work with the accessibility feature on iPhone for people with sight disabilities

    When selecting Accessibility Trainerize should format it’s messaging feature and program sections to increase font size for those with visual disabilities.

  13. Categorize Invoices for Trainers to make payroll easy

    If we could have a sorting/ filter method under the invoices section. This way we can see what trainer sold what invoice. The invoices are already linked to the client who is in the trainers account, so I think I way to filter it out by each trainer would not be to hard? Making it much easier to pay and invoice trainers.

  14. Allow for comments/instruction/notes on each individual exercise

    Allow trainers to write a comment or instruction on each individual exercise instead of the whole program.
    So non english speakers can write instructions in their own language.

  15. Average nutrition graphs

    The nutrition graphs are helpful, but it would be great if we could view calorie and macro averages over the course of a week and a month to see trends better.

  16. Overall Goals - habits, sleep, water, macros,

    The goals section needs expanding and making better for the tracking of goals and habits.

    For each section of sleep, steps, nutrition, water intake and any other data that is synchronised.

    Bar graphs for all this data is better than line graphs.

    You should be able to set timed goals and haits. Using the nutrition goal tracking example with the gold bars etc.

    All this data is in the app we just need it to be organised in a manner that motivates clients and allows trainers to see the results simply for support.

  17. Actual Training Data from Wearable Devices.

    Devices like Fitbit and iWatch are synced, yet the truly important data doesn't sync and isn't viewable or uploadable to Trainerize?! I can't see how long it took a client to finish one of my workouts or their heart rate during their workout (which is key to gauging how hard they're working). I can't see that they rode the Peloton and how many calories they burned to see how to adjust their nutrition. I can't see the mileage and pace they ran when they tracked with their iWatch To have to tell them to manually upload that when the wearable…

  18. Customize TEMPO, REST, and EXERCISE in Progression Spreadsheet

    Being able to change tempo, rest time, and exercises themselves through the Progression Spreadsheet. It would be more efficient to progress through one workout rather than creating another similar workout in the Training Plan.

    ex:
    Wk1 - Goblet Squats - 3 sets, 10 reps - 60s rest - 4020 tempo
    Wk5 - BB Front Squats - 5 sets, 5 reps - 120s rest - 2020 tempo

  20. Add GPS to cardio activity

    When clients go for a walk, run or cycle outside, it would be nice for them to just click 'start workout' and the app records the time (which is already happening) along with the amount of distance they are doing.

    At the moment - I am suggesting they use another app (mapmywalk, etc) but it does put them off using our app as they already have to use a different app for food logging plus zoom.

    I would rather them not need to download another app and have all these features in this one!
