Allow clients to create custom recipes and track by serving
Give clients the ability to create recipes, add number of servings per recipe, then track servings as meals for better accuracy.
Personal recipes can be created the same way as a custom meal, but with all the ingredients for the whole recipe. Clients can then save to "favorites" or access in "recent" then have the option of making the meal a "recipe" with the option for adding number of servings. The app will then calculate the calories and nutrition for each serving. When they track as a "meal", they can choose the number of servings they ate just like they would with in-app recipes.
At this time, the custom meal tracking option is inadequate for accurate tracking of clients personal recipes.
They only have the option of tracking recipes from the "discover" section as meals by serving, requesting that I create a custom recipe in the discover section for them to track, or they have to calculate out individual servings for a recipe, then manually track as meal. This leads to inaccurate tracking, a time consuming process on both ends, the need for another app to calculate, and lack of building a meal tracking habit for clients. MFP offers this feature, and it is very effective.
The benefits of adding this feature include:
1. more awareness for client regarding their favorite recipes
2. more agency as clients build meal tracking and planning skills with their own recipes
3. the ability for me as their coach to get more insight into their preferences to help them with healthy swap ideas
4. significantly less complications for meal tracking

Missing a trick here as you could utilise the recipes that people put in an ad, it automatically to your list. With them adding photos too

I should add that the mere thought of having to manually log so many times can be a huge deterrent for someone sticking to a diet, which could mean clients drop a trainer, which therefore takes another valuable user away from your platform. Sure, if we really want our results, we'll put in the work, tracking and logging inefficiently included, but imagine if enough people were fed up with this how many users and business owners, alike have abandoned the Trainerize ship in favor of more user-friendly apps..........

100% this. It's so time-consuming to have to parse the math out to manually enter a single serving of each ingredient that comprises an entire recipe, weigh things, etc. I'd REALLY RATHER calculate and weigh portions once/in one go. It's a small thing, but it really can save users so much mental energy.

I would like to create recipes versus just entering individual ingredients

Yes, like MFP offers where you can log the food and grams, record the total weight and then get macros based on the weight of the serving size. Most accurate way to do it, just like MFP!!

This is the most asked-for feature from clients, and the main defining difference between hanging on to MyFitnessPal despite the sharing issues and fully moving to Trainerize food tracking. It is so inconvenient that clients can't create their own recipes inside the tracker! This often causes clients to resist tracking entirely as it becomes a serious barrier to entry with logging food.

Yes! This is a MUST!! This is the one area where MFP trumps Trainerize for tracking. I would love to switch all my clients to Trainerize, but most wont due to this feature.

100% the biggest thing preventing me from using the trainerize tracker full time versus myfitnesspal. this is such an important feature for clients

Add a recipe feature where clients can input a larger recipe with the amount of serving sizes it makes so they can later track just 1 serving.

Yes I agree. I will say it was my mistake that I assumed this was a feature because the last app I used for years had it. I absolutely love TZ and it has truly changed the game with my business growth and organization...but I am just not sure how to help clients with recipes the way I have been for years. In my last app it was a very similar process to what TZ offers for "saving meals" it just gave the option to "save a meal" or "save a recipe." A meal would just save as is and be done of course, a recipe would lead us to also creating a name, enter number of servings, then it would do the math based off of number of servings. Just as a meal, it is forever in their library, leading to the client being more compliant and likely to track accurately if it can be a faster, easier process!

Clients should be able to track their custom recipes with multiple ingredients instead of having to repeatedly log the ingredients separately. My clients are frustrated that when making meals at home they have to waste time inputting this information in. It makes it challenging for clients to calculate servings for meals made for the family.

I would like my clients to be able to create their own recipes so they can have for later use and select serving sizes that match what they consumed. Currently they have to add every ingredient separately and can’t save it for later selection. This is a feature in my fitness pal is very handy.

This would be very handy for home-baking. If I bake 30 cookies from a recipe, I can't enter the individual information for one without doing loads of mathematics. The ideal system would be to enter the ingredients in full, then be able to add a 'serving'.

This really needs to be added. It is considered a basic feature in many other tracking app.

I agree with this 1010%! I've had my clients logging in MFP since the beginning of my business, but I'd love to simplify the number of apps needed to work with me. I have one guinea pig logging in-app right now and day 1, this was her first complaint.
This specific client would love to have the option to import recipes from the internet too, but that'd be a "later thing" in my opinion.
The recipe function is a necessity though in my opinion!

Build recipes or meals by manually entering the ingredients.

Absolutely necessary for meal prepping. Having the ability to add the mass of all the ingredients in a recipe and save it so when I log what I’m eating, I can just put the total mass and it automatically calculates the mass of each ingredient. It’s way more precise than “one serving” and it’s just simple math (just tedious to do).
