Feature Request: Enhancing Nutrition Plan Flexibility & Customization
Dear Trainerize Support and Development Team,
I am writing to suggest a few enhancements to the Nutrition Plan module. These updates would significantly improve the coaching experience and provide clients with a more personalized and professional journey.
- Custom Day Labeling (Beyond Day 1, Day 2)
Currently, days are locked as "Day 1," "Day 2," etc. I recommend allowing coaches to rename these days.
- Use case: This is especially important for carb cycling or specific training phases (e.g., renaming a day to "High Carb," "Low Carb," "Refeed Day," or "Rest Day").
- Customizable Meal Names
Coaches should be able to rename generic labels like "Meal 1" or "Breakfast" to something more specific.
- Use case: Renaming meals to "Pre-Workout Meal," "Post-Workout Shake," or "Office Snack."
- Adding Individual Food Items (Raw Ingredients)
Instead of having to create a full recipe for every entry, it would be helpful to add single food items directly to a meal.
- Use case: Adding "200 g boiled potatoes" and "150 g grilled chicken" directly, without needing to create a separate recipe first.
- Dedicated Supplements Section
A separate section specifically for supplements, independent of the daily meal plan, would improve clarity and organization.
- Use case: Clearer tracking for vitamins, creatine, or protein shakes, with fields for dosage and timing.
- General Nutrition Notes & Description
A dedicated text box at the top or bottom of the nutrition plan for general instructions or daily habits (e.g., water intake) would allow coaches to provide broader guidance that applies across the plan.
Reference
To help your team visualize these improvements, I can provide references and screenshots of similar interfaces that successfully implement these features. One example is:
I believe following a similar structure would make the Trainerize nutrition module more intuitive and professional.
Conclusion
These updates would make Trainerize much more versatile for professional coaches who utilize advanced nutritional strategies. I’m happy to discuss these points further or share additional references if helpful.
Thank you for your continued efforts to improve the platform.
Best regards,
Essam Flex

The new flexible meal plan feature is an upgrade from the auto gen, but it would be amazing to be able add your own foods, not just recipes. Like how a client tracks food for example. It would allow a lot more customisation per client
1Fit and Hubfit both have a perfect example of this. This would be SO useful!

Love the new meal plan builder but you can only add recipes, i think a crucial addition is needed, being the ability to add individual foods. for example just having ability to input an apple or a banana etc. should be simple

At the moment with the smart meal planner and the in beta flexible meal planner, you can only add recipes. Some clients have meals or snacks that are not recipes, they might be seperate foods put together to make a snack and we may also want to adjust the calories in a snack and remove one, or some of the foods in that snack or meal. E.g. - alot of my clients have a steak, veg and potato dinner option, they do not all eat the same amounts, i dont want to create a seperate steak recipe for everyone. I want to be able to add a recipe, OR build foods into a spot in the meal plan, OR both.. E.g. client has my brownie and a banana for a snack.
