Why should I vote?
This forum allows us to more accurately prioritize ideas to ensure a system of fairness by executing on improvements needed more urgently by a larger cohort of our user community, in order of voting priority. It offers you transparency into what we're reviewing, starting and have completed.

Vote subscribes you to the idea so when its status changes, you'll get notified. 

When does an idea get picked up?
The higher the votes, the more likely the idea will be completed but there is no fixed formula if an idea will be picked up as it is just one avenue we look at. The idea forum is only one of the many avenues we use to evaluate an idea's feasibility. We also factor in your conversations with our support team, in-app surveys, Facebook beta groups,  complexity of the idea, talks with our inner circle of users and how it fits with the overall vision of the platform.

For example, "Portuguese support" was for the longest time in our top 3. But embarking on that would significantly dent our ability to serve our primary English speaking community effectively.

  1. In- Workout personal notes

    The ability for subscribers to add notes to individual exercises in the workouts

    Could be a simple three dot menu next to the exercise that brings up a drop down that says
    - too light
    - just right
    - too heavy

    Or even better would be a small description box with smaller font so could see custom note in next workout
    Examples:
    - felt a weird punch
    - weight felt light today
    - next workout go up/ do more reps

    Could be next to previous weeks reps x weight area

  2. Adding a dropset, cluster set, pnf, 1/2 rep, reps in reserve option to exercises.

    A button or easy way to instruct clients to do dropsets burnouts, cluster sets ect on the last set of certain exercises

  3. Ability for Trainers to program "Recommended Substitutes" in the Workout Editor to allow for Equipment Availability/Progressions

    With the world going in and out of lockdowns, equipment availability is ever-changing. Additionally, delivering Group Training Programs, different members may have differing Equipment Availability, Personal Preferences & Levels Of Skill

    The ability to program a primary exercise, with additional options that a trainer can program/recommend as an appropriate variation/substitute... this would work wonders in creating a highly adaptable program for the member's experience

    I currently work around this issue by "Supersetting" exercise options based on equipment availability together for each movement pattern into movement-type categories with written explainers to help provide more information & variety with exercise selection for…

  4. Exporting Workouts/Programs to PDF

    Can we please have someone spend a bit of time rehashing the PDF export for the workouts? Every time I export my workouts to a PDF, I have to put them through Google Sheets first, so that when printed they line up a bit nicer, and look like some thought has gone into the formatting.

    Specifically;

    (1) It would be really great if the printouts were such a size that the average person's handwriting would actually fit in the boxes,
    (2) Furthermore to this, if I've spent the time to go through and edit all the workouts in the spreadsheet…

  5. Add RPE targets/rating to each set of an exercise and also to progression tables

    The ability to see how each client is rating an exercise speicifically and give them a target to hit on this exercise would be great.

    What would be even better is if you could also add this to the progression tables. So you might start someone on RPE 7 on an exercise week 1 and slowly through a training block move them up to an 8, then a 9 etc..

  6. Ability to PAUSE a clients program.

    Need to be able to put a pause on a clients program. Say they are away from 2 weeks on vacation, ability to pause for the 2 weeks (or however long) then start back where they left off when they return.

  7. Remove estimated workout time (or make it optional)

    Estimated workout time is inaccurate (too short) 99% of the time. Clients are constantly messaging us, wondering if they should’ve done their workouts in half the time — or less. It adds an unnecessary layer of pressure for folks who are already feeling anxious about starting a new program. Please remove, or at least make it optional.

  9. create and edit master programs in mobile or ipad app

    There isnt a way to create master programs, or a program at all in the app. The app isn’t very user friendly for the trainer

  10. workouts on calendars without a trainer

    Allow businesses to share a database of workouts for basis members (one way communication) so that they don't have to be assigned a trainer in order to add a workout to their calendar. Then trainers can select workouts to add to "all members" as a permission setting. I think on the IT side it wouldn't be too hard to add this because a permission already exists in the system to allow trainers to do it. Simply add a new permission that possibly is an upgraded add-on for this feature.

    Can we allow vertical videos to be uploaded yet?! I have so many videos in my archive to be uploaded and I naturally hold the phone/camera vertically and not horizontally, so I keep forgetting to adjust. But it’d be great if this could happen?! Anyone agree??

  13. Allow clients to write notes that stick with an exercise

    Similar to how clients can always see their prior weights and reps, allow them to add a few notes to their exercises.

    For example, when they are using a cable machine, they might want to note, which peg hole they had the cable height set to. Or when on a seated leg press machine, how close they were to the footplate.

    Currently, they can only put notes at the end of their workout, but they can't see those notes when doing that same exercise later.

  16. BRING BACK The Client calendar view on Web that was removed Today!

    Today Trainerize removed the Client Calendar View on the Web Version. This was extremely helpful for my clients. It allowed them to easily adjust my programming to fit their schedule in the matter of seconds.

    The app take several clicks per each day to move a workout to another day. But the calendar view on the web allowed them to easily drag and drop and rearrange their workouts.

    Perfect example: Today a client reached out because this feature was removed and said "her ***** at work changed, and she needed to move her 2 rest days to different days of…

  19. vertical video

    Please add the option to upload a vertical video! The horizontal has too much wasted space on the sides. By the time I get far enough away in horizontal mode to show my whole body, I'm tiny and there is a bunch of garbage space around me. Too far away and small to see form. Easier for clients to view vertical on phone. Should have option for BOTH formats. Very critical, IMHO.

  20. Zone interval training / metcon cardio intervals

    Customize zone targets time in cardio workouts. Zone 1 for 5 min, zone 2 for 10 min, etc. Build a heart rate interval workout.
