We are continually upgrading Trainerize with new features based on your feedback. Please add a new idea, or vote on an existing idea. This ensures your ideas don't get lost and always visible and other trainers can upvote your ideas. The idea forum allows us to keep a pulse check on what our trainer community as a whole wants.

Why should I vote?
This forum allows us to more accurately prioritize ideas to ensure a system of fairness by executing on improvements needed more urgently by a larger cohort of our trainer community, in order of voting priority. It offers you transparency into what we're reviewing, starting and have completed.

Vote subscribes you to the idea so when its status changes, you'll get notified. 

When does an idea get picked up?
The higher the votes, the more likely the idea will be completed but there is no fixed formula if an idea will be picked up as it is just one avenue we look at. The idea forum is only one of the many avenues we use to evaluate an idea's feasibility. We also factor in your conversations with our support team, in-app surveys, Facebook beta groups,  complexity of the idea, talks with our inner circle of trainers and how it fits with the overall vision of Trainerize.

For example, "Portuguese support" was for the longest time in our top 3. But embarking on that would significantly dent our ability to serve our primary English speaking community effectively.

  1. Zone interval training

    Customize zone targets time in cardio workouts. Zone 1 for 5 min, zone 2 for 10 min, etc. Build a heart rate interval workout.

  2. Ability to log/track and search for 1RM, 3RM, 5RM, 10 rep max history for each client easily

    Currently in the trainerize apk there is a history list and a running bar showing 3 rm, 5rm, max weight ever and max volume. As so, the trainee is unable to quickly check the PRs for the rep range that his/her coach prescribed for the given day.
    Solution:Clicking the exercise leads to a history list with date, reps and weight, swiping left leads to a list of all rep ranges (1-15) and the records for these rep ranges.

  5. I would like a suggested alternative exercise section

    I understand clients can go in and substitute exercises. But I would like to have a list of my suggested alternatives first. I sell master programs and I run into the issue of clients not having the necessary equipment and need an alternative I do not want to go in and build out a million different versions of a master plan to meet each individual client's needs. I would like a way for clients to substitute exercises with that I suggest in case they don't have that equipment.

    Another solution that might be a stretch is based on the consultation…

  6. To be able to enter custom cardio types like classes

    To have the ability to enter custom cardio types at our discretion. Examples: mountain biking, Hill repeats, Sprinting, and other sports not already listed on the drop-down list for cardio types.

  7. Be able to pick an exercise or upload a thumbnail for a workout

    I am considering making a basic "how to use" video for each session with a thumbnail including the full workout name. Since I already have all of that info in the workout description, it would be much nicer if I could just add a thumbnail to the workout itself. Would also get rid of having the same image for every workout (since I use the same movement prep warmup for every session).

  8. Ability to track client's heart rate throughout entire workout/cardio activity etc.

    Currently the app only shows average, max and min heart etc.
    It would be GREAT to be able to see a full graph of their heart rate throughout the entire workout/activity.
    This can be pulled from any of the major phone's health apps.

    This would be great to be able to see their heart rate at certain times (spikes) / make sure they're consistent if training at a certain zone. It would pair well with the RPE and other stats.

  10. More rest times

    Could you add more rest time options such as
    75 seconds
    100 seconds
    2.5 minutes
    Maybe even a custom one where we can just type in the time

  11. Manually modify est time duration on a workout

    The Trainerize system auto-calculates Workout time estimates, I would like the ability to manually modify the time to better match the workout I have created.

  12. Inbuilt workout video feature for client programs

    Have a inbuilt camera upload feature in the clients workout plan then the coach can overview technique feedback once the session is completed. E.g like True Coach feature.

  13. Ability to Clone Entire Circuits

    I'd like to be able to easily clone an entire circuit of exercises.

    There may times that I'd like the client to perform each exercise for 45 seconds for the first time through the circuit, then I may want them to repeat the same circuit and perform the exercises for only 35 seconds.

    Instead of having to manually add each exercise into a new circuit, it would be nice to have a Copy/Clone option, that will add the circuit into the workout again. From there, only changes to the work intervals would be necessary. Makes it much simpler!

  14. Progressions WITHIN a workout

    Would be great to be able to make progressions WITHIN a workout without having to copy/paste and do it manually. Right now, all sets have to be the same - would be awesome if we could have (for example) the ability to assign different reps/time/goals across the same circuit

  15. Display 1RM in real time on the app as they workout

    Being able to see your calculated 1RM as soon as you fill out your reps and weight during the workout allows you or your client to make better decisions in terms of how much heavier to go when selecting weight for the next set.

    For example, if a client knows their 1RM is 300lbs but on their 3rd set they see that the weight they chose calculated out to an estimated 1RM of 280, then they know they need to increase their intensity to keep up to what their potential is. Furthermore, they can then begin to select weight levels…

  16. Exercise Variations/Options

    It would be useful to be able to set suggested variations for exercises

    E.g.

    Exercise 1 - Bench press (Barbbell)

    If client doesnt have that piece of equipment they can select from a trainer suggested selection of swap ins.
    Trainer could then select, Db bench, chest press machine etc as suggested swaps

    Then if client makes the change, it allows them to permanently change that in their programme

  18. Add AMRAP, AFAP, and EMOM to workout type

    To make our lives easier than using a work-around, it would be amazing to add AMRAP, AFAP, and EMOM to the workout types. I feel this would save a ton of time and allow for even more diversity of workouts.

  19. Build out on-demand libraries of workouts or classes

    I would like the ability to separate out sections in the programs tab like "Yoga", "Pilates", "HIIT" and create libraries of workouts/classes that clients can start whenever they feel like it.

  20. Allow clients to make changes to their workouts that they can save and do again

    If clients want to make changes to their workout, based on their preferences and equipment available, it would be really helpful if they could save it so they can do the workout again next time. It detracts from the client experience for them to not be able to save it, and to have to ask and wait for the coach to change things for them. Many of my clients would appreciate this feature being added.
