Feature requests, ideas and suggestions

We are continually upgrading Trainerize with new features based on your feedback. Please add a new idea, or vote on an existing idea. This ensures your ideas don't get lost and always visible and other trainers can upvote your ideas. The idea forum allows us to keep a pulse check on what our trainer community as a whole wants.

Why should I vote?
This forum allows us to more accurately prioritize ideas to ensure a system of fairness by executing on improvements needed more urgently by a larger cohort of our trainer community, in order of voting priority. It offers you transparency into what we're reviewing, starting and have completed.

Vote subscribes you to the idea so when its status changes, you'll get notified. 

When does an idea get picked up?
The higher the votes, the more likely the idea will be completed but there is no fixed formula if an idea will be picked up as it is just one avenue we look at. The idea forum is only one of the many avenues we use to evaluate an idea's feasibility. We also factor in your conversations with our support team, in-app surveys, Facebook beta groups,  complexity of the idea, talks with our inner circle of trainers and how it fits with the overall vision of Trainerize.

For example, "Portuguese support" was for the longest time in our top 3. But embarking on that would significantly dent our ability to serve our primary English speaking community effectively.

  1. lean body mass

    It would be so easy to add calculation of fat weight and lean body weight, given weight and bf%. I like tracking this with my clients - fat weight is key.

  2. add an option for a client to be able to simply "check in" if they finished an exercise

    Instead of them always having to write their reps and weight. If they performed the prescribed numbers of those two values, they can just check in. And only if they did a different number they would need to enter that number. It streamlines the process and makes it easier for client to use the app/site while at the gym. I think that's a reasonable request and is coming from my clients directly. Thank you

    Hey guys,

    This is done. If you visit your main trainerize site address, it will load up the full marketing site in the mobile browser. Only if you click sign in, it will detect and send them to download the app to access training functionality.

  5. Allow to Upload Before, During & After Photos to Client Profile

    I take progress photos of my clients, and it would be nice to be able to upload them to their profile on this website, rather than emailing them. That way they can see the photos side by side and see how much they have progressed.

    This is possible! Switch into your client’s profile, and navigate to the Progress tab and click on “Progress Photos”. Client before/after pictures can be uploaded in here. Enjoy :)

  6. App for Android

    An app for Android devices. It would be better than any fitness app currently available on Android and it would be alot quicker and easier to use than the internet site as you would be able to use it without connecting to the internet/wifi/3g

  7. Add a "General" category to the Exercise Type dropdown, or don't force a choice

    I am adding custom exercises to my library that fit into other categories, such as "mobility", "stretching" "warmup", etc. I find it frustrating to be forced to choose between categories like "Strength: Reps & Weights", etc. when they don't apply. I'm not forced to tag a main body part, so would like to not be forced to choose an Exercise Type - unless I could customize it.

  8. Allow for routines scheduled on calendars to be copied to multiple users

    When I schedule workouts (ie a routine) on a client's calendar, I may want to copy that schedule, onto another client's calendar. So create a "send" feature, that allows me to send "routines/training plans" to multiple clients. Like the send workout feature.

    Idea Completed! You can now copy scheduled routines from one client to multiple clients! The Training plan, workouts, and calendar will all be copied over. Thanks for the great idea :)

  9. When a trainer or client is using a iPad or tablet they should have an option to use the full site or mobile site.

    When a trainer or client is using a iPad or tablet they should have an option to use the full site or mobile site. The reason being is the some want to edit workouts or add clients on the go, having the m2 in the URL and removing each time can become a pain in the you know what....hehe

    Good URL http://positivefitness.trainerize.com for iPad's and tablet's editing etc. remember trainers are always on the go and don't always carry laptops.

  12. Make attachments available as an add on

    When will be able to add attachments. For example completed PAR-Q form or a postural analysis or even the invoices i raise for a particular client.

    Need those attachments!

  14. Modify Treadmill Workout

    I would like to be able to modify the Treadmill information. Or add a new treadmill workout. I generally warmup at 3.5 mph for 5 mins then workout at 4.5 mph for 20-30 then cooldown at 3.5 for 5 mins.

    You can actually already do this! Just create a workout as normal, and pull in the cardio exercise “Treadmill” into this workout. And then within the “instructions” area, enter in your warmup, workout, and cooldown details.

  15. Create a Mobile Website for Windows Mobile OS handsets (or Nokia)

    I, like many of my clients, access the web via mobile browsers. Mobile websites are accessible on most phones and tablets. It would be nice to access most, probably not all of the content in some fashion on a mobile site. Example) I am unable to access Trainerize on my Windows Mobile 7.5 phone (Nokia Lumia 900) in a mobile format.

    Please create a mobile website.
