Feature requests, ideas and suggestions

We are continually upgrading Trainerize with new features based on your feedback. Please add a new idea, or vote on an existing idea. This ensures your ideas don't get lost and always visible and other trainers can upvote your ideas. The idea forum allows us to keep a pulse check on what our trainer community as a whole wants.

Why should I vote?
This forum allows us to more accurately prioritize ideas to ensure a system of fairness by executing on improvements needed more urgently by a larger cohort of our trainer community, in order of voting priority. It offers you transparency into what we're reviewing, starting and have completed.

Vote subscribes you to the idea so when its status changes, you'll get notified. 

When does an idea get picked up?
The higher the votes, the more likely the idea will be completed but there is no fixed formula if an idea will be picked up as it is just one avenue we look at. The idea forum is only one of the many avenues we use to evaluate an idea's feasibility. We also factor in your conversations with our support team, in-app surveys, Facebook beta groups,  complexity of the idea, talks with our inner circle of trainers and how it fits with the overall vision of Trainerize.

For example, "Portuguese support" was for the longest time in our top 3. But embarking on that would significantly dent our ability to serve our primary English speaking community effectively.

  1. Add warmup sequences

    Add warmup sequence for specific body parts or general warmup so we can re-use.

    Please add your specific exercises to the comments, with any youtube videos. That will help us execute on this idea if we have specific exercises we can execute on.

  2. Add more body weight exercises

    During COVID 19 can you add more body weight and/or pilates type exercises. Clients have limited equipment at home.Im spending hours adding youtube videos that take clients AWAY from Trainerize site.

  4. Senior (55+) exercises

    Seniors have different needs. The aging body and various medications limit what can be done. Chair exercise would be one example.

  5. Add an option to track band resistance (ie. light, med, heavy) under the "Type" within a single exercise

    Add an option to track band resistance (ie. light, med, heavy) under the "Type" category within a single exercise. A lot of my at home clients have only bands at home and I still want them to keep track of which resistance they are using so that over time they can progress to a heavier band.

  6. Ability to enter RPE after each set

    There should be a third box after each set to note down the RPE of the given exercise of that set. This would make it easy to use from a Powerlifting and Strength training perspective.

  7. ADD RESISTANCE BAND EXERCISES

    I cant find any exercises that use hip circles (booty bands) and i would love to add them in for my clients.

    Hi everyone,



    Thanks for your great suggestion! We’ve just added a whole new batch of resistance band exercises to the library.

    We will be adding another batch of new banded exercises next month. These will be focused on movements that require the band to be affixed to a door or rack. Looking forward to sharing that with everyone.

    Be able to create your own tags for exercises so it can be categorized based on intended purpose (work on muscle, on a joint, or a specific movement pattern)

  9. Add tempo options to the workouts so this can also be tracked for progress

    It would be good to have a tempo option on the exercises. I usually write it in where the reps are but it would be useful to track

  10. Have a "hiking" option for workouts

    Instead of "walking", it would be nice to distinguish "walking" from "hiking" in my clients programs.

  11. A FAVORITE EXERCISE TAB.... PLEASE

    Can we please add a tab for favorite exercises so I no longer need to memorize how to find my most used exercises

  12. Be able to add a note on a particular set of an exercise

    Let the client make a note on a particular set of an exercise.
    For example on the last set of a barbell bench press, The client would be able to make a note that they could only get three reps versus five. Or they can make a note about how their shoulder felt weird when they hit the last set of an exercise.

  15. Countdown

    Allow a countdown/timer in the set when the client starts the workout

    For example I sometimes have clients to a mix of timed work and reps and it would be nice if when we enter a time for an exercise that there is an automatic countdown like there is for intervals

  16. Add swimming to the cardio options on the calendar

    There is a lot of cardio features for the clients however there is no swimming option.

  17. Custom Video Filter

    When looking through exercises, we customize a lot of videos so want to search specifically for ours but when we add the filter for “custom exercises only” it still shows some stock videos.

  18. Client able to “star rate” workouts

    I think it would be a great way to get some feedback but more important be able for everyone to see the star rating of a workout. So they can say, wow this workout’s is 4 out of 5 rating. I want to try it out!

  19. MORE AT HOME WORKOUTS

    We are all stuck inside without a gym, most of our clients only have limited equipment. I have looked through every exercise and you guys do not have some very basic exercises that can be done with a band. Lat Pull down tricep push down, the list goes on. We're going to be stuck in this horrible situation for a while until a vaccine is created. You guys have to adapt to at home exercises. I realize that i can just put notes in for the client but so many need a visual, like a said you must adapt like…

  20. Comments section next to the weights/ reps section for CLIENTS

    Have a section where clients are able to write notes next to the exercise prescribed. This will allow them to write any important notes or reminders for the next time they train (e.g. push knees out in the squat, or make sure to activate glutes prior to session as glutes were switched off)
