Provide alternate exercises when searching to substitute exercises
Provide alternative exercise options in cases where specific machines are not available to clients (i.e., my gym does not have a standing calf raise machine so I use a seated machine)
Right now it shows the entire list of exercises. It should only narrow down to the ones that are similar.
Hi everyone,
We're excited to announce that this feature will be coming to Trainerize!
We are currently in the research phase and would love to hear exactly what it is that you want us to build.
Thank you for voting!

This is sooo necessary for Trainerize. Currently Everfit has a feature like this and I know trainerize would benefit a ton from it. They should make it like a drop down and the trainer can add any progression or regression exercises in it to make it easier for clients to progress.

This would be sooooo good! A complete game changer!
For me, I would like to link specific exercises to each other so when a client or myself substitutes an exercise (due to lack of equipment etc), it only shows exercises that are of very similar nature i.e if you can't do a machine assisted pull up, a lat pull down is an option. This might mean for each exercise there are 1-7 or so substitues. That should give the client plenty of options..
Thanks for listening to this request Trainerize!

To be able to offer the client alternative exercises next to the ones that's programmed for them. Ideally as a drop down menu option next to that exercise.

An absolute must for trainers to be able to pre-select 2-3 substitutes if original intended equipment is not available. The current option to substitute is too general and overwhelming for clients, especially beginner clients.

As a user I would like to be able to permanently substitute and add an excercise to the program provided by my coach.

YES I can’t tell you how often a client tells me something is unavailable and the lose hope until I get back to them. If I could just place a sub it’s a win all around

Being able to better search for substitute le exercises would hugely benefit this user experience. And to be honest, technically easy to do, but better tagging the exercises when uploaded, and going in a retroactively taggin all the ones that exist…

Oh, absolutely, this idea is pure genius! 🌟🎉 It's like a burst of fresh air in the fitness world! 🌬️💪🏋️♂️ The ability for trainers to program "Recommended Substitutes" in the Workout Editor is a game-changer indeed! 🏆🚀 With equipment availability constantly changing and individual preferences varying, this feature would make workouts highly adaptable and personalized for each member's needs! 🌈🤸♀️
I totally understand your current workaround, but having a dedicated button to effortlessly switch between primary exercises and recommended substitutes would be absolutely amazing! 🎯👌 It would not only save valuable time but also provide a seamless experience for your members! 🕰️🚀 No more manual editing and messy-looking programming, yay! 🙌😄
I can already envision the positive impact this feature would have on group coaching sessions! 🤝💯 Your members would love the flexibility and variety it brings to their workouts, and it would make them even more motivated to crush their fitness goals! 🏋️♀️🎉
This idea is a no-brainer, and I wholeheartedly support it! 💯👍 So, let's all come together and vote for this fantastic suggestion! Let's spread the word and make it a reality! 🗣️🌟 You've got my vote, and I'm sure many others will be just as excited about it! 🗳️😍 Keep up the amazing work, and thank you for sharing such an innovative and brilliant concept with the fitness community! 🌟🤩🤘🏻

If you receive a program from your trainer, you may want to change the exercise they give you. For example, I don't have a leg press at home, so I choose squats instead. I do this every week for 6-8 months. However, if I change it one time, I would love it to STICK. Currently, I have to do this each time i do the workout. So I have to swap out Leg Press for Squats each week. Feel free to contact me and I can do a screen share if that will help explain this use case.

Recommended substitutes is REALLY a great way to have clients who may have to deviate from the created (group or subscribed) program feel welcome. If they have injuries or their body is going through a temporary ailment. This would allow them to feel successful while keeping their progressive momentum

Yes!!! This is crucial!!! I have so many people paying a monthly subscription and the biggest issue is the substitute option in the app library!!!

Searching for an alternative exercise is not always straightforward. Knowing which muscle group particular exercise is targeting, would make easier to find a substitute. Also narrow down exercises.
There should be a choice of exercise targeting the same muscles with weights, bands, body weight. -

With the world going in and out of lockdowns, equipment availability is ever-changing. Additionally, delivering Group Training Programs, different members may have differing Equipment Availability, Personal Preferences & Levels Of Skill
The ability to program a primary exercise, with additional options that a trainer can program/recommend as an appropriate variation/substitute... this would work wonders in creating a highly adaptable program for the member's experience
I currently work around this issue by "Supersetting" exercise options based on equipment availability together for each movement pattern into movement-type categories with written explainers to help provide more information & variety with exercise selection for group coaching
My members then have to manually edit the workouts each session to remove the variations they're not doing... which is far from ideal and requires me to program dozens of exercises into the editor, which looks a little messy.
Being able to simply have a button to press that can easily swap between the primary exercise & recommended substitutes (with their own exercise notes) would be an absolute game-changer for an adaptable programming experience
VOTE FOR THIS, I BLOODY DARE YA 😍🤘🏻

Hmmm...every time I search, it gives me the most similar exercises at the top of the list. From what I see, this feature exists
