Why can't I just type in what I have for a meal? I generally do not take pictures of what I eat. I doubt I will report my meals this way.
I would like to type my meal on what looks like a regular calendar with room for three meals and two or three snacks. Or could be a day of the week with space to type it all in. Either way. I'm not going to take a photo of what I'm eating because I don't think about it until I'm done eating. So please just give me some space to do it. IF I want to put calories I will, otherwise, just want to write down what I eat. Period. Might have a separate section to post recipes or request a recipe.

You don't have to take a picture of what you eat, everytime.
I do however like the idea of having a section n where you could type in a recipe, and then maybe off to the side the calories per item come up, then at the bottom the total recipe calories come up , then under that it could be divided by portions - sizes so we know that size and the calorie, fat content, protein etc. That would be extremely convenient and I would cook more often with more convenient app work like that.

At first it seems like an extra step to take the picture. But taking a few seconds to snap the picture helps with logging in the future. Once you have logged you can go to recents in your log and it will show everything you have logged. If you have taken a picture of what it is you will be able to find it very fast and instantly log it. Seems extra at first but it makes logging much much faster once you have done it.

Surprised that this hasn’t been addressed by now. Taking a picture of your food is something people want to do all the time? Seems like that would also chew unnecessarily through a lot of data.
