Have the app availible in lock screen
Using you phone is a busy gym is a pain having to constantly unlock it. When i set it to not lock i forget to change it back. Make the app avialible from you locked screen once you have begun the workout from the main screen

This is available in the latest version. When viewing a workout, the screen does not lock anymore.
