Rather than just having a daily calorie allowance, having a nutritional calendar which can allow for high / low calories days will provide greater flexibility when prescribing a nutrition program.
By scheduling in high / low days it provides the option of a more customisable experience for the client.
E.g. 5 low days during the week, 2 high days on the weekend.
