Trainerize.me and the “Find a Trainer” feature, which creates a marketplace for trainers, makes us commodities and forces us to lower our prices to compete with everyone else.

Trainerize used to be a service for trainers, not for clients to compare trainers to many others. It was so different from anything else. It was perfect!
By offering trainerize.me / Find a Trainer, it makes Trainerize like thumbtack.com where people can just search for a trainer in their city online.

Now, we can’t offer an app to our clients. We’re now “just a bunch of trainerize trainers”. What I loved about Trainerize is that it still let our business be independent, unlike someone who is, say, a Beachbody Trainer who works for…BeachBody, not themselves. This makes us uber drivers for training.

It marginalizes what we do and how we can market ourselves. Before this marketplace (trainerize.me / Find a Trainer,), we could advertise our own businesses as being something special and different, a business with online training offered on our websites and the Trainerize app…but this takes the exclusivity and uniqueness of what we had and makes it worth nothing.

This is a radically disappointing change that is going to have catastrophic results to most of your best clients.

Why would anyone get a great trainer when they could get a cheap one?

I would much rather you have invested in more exercise demonstration videos and additional app features than something this.
