Ability to track servings or portion of vegetables/protein through the day
Right now, it's yes/no. It's better if the user could add a serving throughout the day to track their veggie/protein intake etc.

Ditto for this. I assign portions for the entire day, and have recommendations per meal (for example, 1-2 portions of protein per meal) but the goal is to eat a certain total by the end of the day. The portions per meal are just recommendations to help spread the total out across all meals. So if I want 5 portions of protein/day, they might want to do 2 for their first meal, 1 for their second, and either 2 for their last one or 1 for each of the last two meals they eat (if they decide to eat 4x that day instead of 3x). If I were to just say "2 portions of protein per meal" and they decide to eat 4x that day, they'd have 8 portions of protein that day instead of just 5. That's not necessarily harmful, but makes it hard to prescribe portion recommendations accurately while still being flexible for clients, and forces us to set strict recommendations that under- or overshoot daily targets unnecessarily.
Like others have said as well, it's harder to learn/maintain the portion-tracking habit when clients just have one task to complete at the end of the day that says "2 portions of protein per meal." If the folks tracking macros/calories need to log every meal to track it, then folks using portion guides should also need to go in and check off how many portions of protein/carbs/veggies/fats they have each meal as well, and how close they are to hitting or exceeding their portion targets for the day, just like calories/macros. If it could be combined with meal photos/food journal that would be even better.

Would love for my clients to track their meals throughout the day using portion sizes. I would also like the option of doing half portion sizes as well. Using this along with meal photos will make it easier to educate our clients on what an actual portion size is, as well as meal content.

My thoughts are similar to others below. As a PN coach, I believe it's more effective for most general health clients to enter their hand-based portions each day. Detailed tracking is overkill for most of these clients.
I am currently using Exercises to track hand-based portions. It works but is a little confusing for clients and makes us look a little unprofessional having to hack the app. As a former techie, it seems to me that you could copy much of the code you're using to track exercises and repurpose it under the Habits or Nutrition categories.
Thanks!

Currently, with the "Follow Portion Guidelines" Nutrition Habit, We only have the option to allow our clients to check off whether or not they followed the guidelines per meal that day. (one check off, for the entire day).
As a Precision Nutrition Certified Nutrition Coach, I often use the "Hand-Based" portion guidelines to teach awareness and build understanding of energy intake.
I often have my clients track their portions throughout the day;
e.g. Meal 1: 2 Palms protein, 2 Scoops Carbs, 1 thumb fat, and 2 fists of veggies, Along with a photo-food journal I can use to monitor food choice quality, and accuracy of portion estimates.I often do this separate from the Trainerize app, but since you guys are working on your nutrition services for coaches, I feel it would be helpful to have some way to track this in-app, as an alternative to calories and macros (as the same information can be inferred just as accurately)
Perhaps some sort of ongoing (daily) counter, with portion goals set, and as clients consume their meals they can check off how many portions they ate, and see how many they have remaining.
This would work well in synergy with the photo food journal function you guys are already offering in beta mode.
I appreciate all the work you all are doing to make the online coaching process much easier for us coaches, so i would like to express gratitude to the entire Trainerize team.
Peace and love,
Coach Ty

I understand that the habit of staying within your hand portions is available on Trainerize, but we would prefer to have the ability for our clients to submit exactly how many hand portions of proteins, veggies, carbs, and fats they have had that day.

I'd love to clients to be able to tick off servings for the day. I have them use palms, fists, hands, thumbs for tracking and ticking them off as they eat would be so beneficial!

Be able to add more than 6 portions for macros and be able to offer ranges for servings. For example, between 4-6 servings.
-
Ability for clients to track number of palms, fists, hands or thumbs of servings through the day as they eat their meals.

When you suggest someone stick to e.g. 3x palm size servings of protein, they should be able to tick off each serving one by one, so they can keep track of their day as it unfolds

Give clients the ability to set amount of portions as a goal rather than Macros or Kcal. In some instances having clients record the number of CHO, PRO or FAT portions is more realistic than measuring via a database from Fitbit or MyFitness Pal for example.
