Feature requests, ideas and suggestions

We are continually upgrading Trainerize with new features based on your feedback. Please add a new idea, or vote on an existing idea. This ensures your ideas don't get lost and always visible and other trainers can upvote your ideas. The idea forum allows us to keep a pulse check on what our trainer community as a whole wants.

Why should I vote?
This forum allows us to more accurately prioritize ideas to ensure a system of fairness by executing on improvements needed more urgently by a larger cohort of our trainer community, in order of voting priority. It offers you transparency into what we're reviewing, starting and have completed.

Vote subscribes you to the idea so when its status changes, you'll get notified. 

When does an idea get picked up?
The higher the votes, the more likely the idea will be completed but there is no fixed formula if an idea will be picked up as it is just one avenue we look at. The idea forum is only one of the many avenues we use to evaluate an idea's feasibility. We also factor in your conversations with our support team, in-app surveys, Facebook beta groups,  complexity of the idea, talks with our inner circle of trainers and how it fits with the overall vision of Trainerize.

For example, "Portuguese support" was for the longest time in our top 3. But embarking on that would significantly dent our ability to serve our primary English speaking community effectively.

  1. Auto calculations for percentage of 1 rep max

    Have calculations built in so you can put the clients 1 rep max in and then prescribe them a percentage of that 1 rep max

  2. I'd like to be able to insert "Rest" directly into the a workout I'm building.

    We should be able to drag and drop "Rest" instead of it being automatically added to the end of a session.

  3. be able to rearrange or reorder training phases

    Be able to drop and drop training phases so we can rearrange them for easier editing of programs

  5. Let us build and assign training programs from the app

    Instead of having to jump on the computer, using the app we can assign programs quicker and easier

  6. INCLUDE REPS IN PRINTED WORKOUT LOG

    Some clients want to be able to print their workout logs, but it only includes the reps and doesnt show supersets, rest or rep schemes. PLEASE FIX THIS!!

  7. Customize Client Progression Workouts

    Its a better way to customize a clients personal program in the progresion sheet. Entering the weight assigments for each exercise is a good option to give a client. Not everyone have the same goals, so a progression sheet that is for the entire program its not all that helpfull.

  8. Unlimited scroll on clients/programs

    With clients and programs it’s a waste of time and hassle to constantly have to click on the little page icon to get to either more clients or a program within a client. It needs to just be a continuous scroll up and down that auto populates as you go. TrueCoach and others have this and it’s so much easier and faster to just scroll especially when you have a program on say pages 3-4 so now you have to click page 2 just see page 3 visible to click. Lots of wasted time.

  10. Make it possible to delete the right and left exercises, and add in the new tagged contralateral exercise in the old program.

    Make it possible to delete the duplicated right and left exercises, and add in the new tagged contralateral exercise in the old program....I made a whole year worth of programs, and would love this option, but I would have to make all my programs over again instead of switching the new option out for the old one..

  11. Add the possibility to change rest time in the progression spreadsheet

    Rest time between exercises do no appear on the progression spreadsheet, so if a want to program less rest time between sets on a perioditation it’s harder

  12. general program templates

    to put it in perspective of how your program will work knowing you hit all of your desired training functions for the day/week.

    Fat loss ;Strength ;etc,

    A1 Hip Hinge (day 1,3,5) Sets 3-4 reps 12-15
    A2 Hip Hinge (day 2,4,6)

    B1 Push(day 1,3,5)
    B2 Push (day 2,4,6)

    Energy system training (cardiovascular) 30 seconds on, 30 off 8-12 sets

  13. 531 and other programs

    Programs like 531 are basically a massive pain to program for clients. It would be great to be able to have trainerize figure out the progression automatically from inputting some starting weights

  14. Reverse Pyramid training

    Currently I have to enter each set as a separate custom exercise if I want to program reverse Pyramid training.

    In fact, Pyramid training of any kind is not really supported

  15. Circuit training needs Warmup and cool down section separate from the main workout.

    When creating a program a warmup section and cool down section separate from the main workout would be valuable. Especially when creating circuit training workouts. Right now it looks like they are to do the whole warmup and cooldown each time they do the main workout circuit... instead of before and after the main circuit workout. This is a big one for me.

  16. Would love to be able to attach files to custom workout programs

    I would love to be able to attach certain files to specific workout programs that are created. That way once I add someone to that program they automatically have access to the files associated with that program.

  17. Ability to disable the reminder for someone needing a new program, as some of our clients don't train with us.

  18. Mobility Program

    There should be a pre made Mobility Reset Program that teaches the fundamentals of mobility and free joint movement with no limitations. We live in a society where we have acquired rounded shoulders due to computer and cell phone overusage. Our bodies are tight and most people dont realize how important mobility training is. Mobility training should be coincided with Strength Training. Without Mobility Training, there will be a higher risk of injury.

  19. A breakdown total for workouts completed to show or highlight their favourites

    Client requested to be able to see which programs they have done the most of vs least. A lot of my clients are customized and individual so not on the master plan. Also if they can highlite some as their favourites so it shows at the top of their workout lists in order of how many times they've done certain workouts. The app itself tracks the total workouts but would be great to see the break down as well.

  20. Progression spreadsheet across multiple phases

    When scheduling small phases so that the client cannot move to far in the future, it would be cool to still be able to use the progression spreadsheet edit function in order to change sets and repetitions.
