Allow manual tracking of steps without having to sync a device
I have clients that do not use a smart watch, but wear a pedometer and their step goals are important to them. It would be great if there was a way for them (or me even) to enter their steps manually so that they can see how they are improving over time.
Hi everyone,
Thanks for coming to the idea forum and adding your vote to this idea.
We’re keeping this set to ‘Not Right Now’, as we’re building out challenges and we do not want clients to be able to cheat the system through manual entry.
If you are looking at more connections to the app. Please get your clients to vote on feedback.trainerize.com.
Healthkit (use your iPhone’s set counter – is available now – go to More to connect)
Google Fit (use your android phone’s step counter) : https://bit.ly/3vTUoKw
Samsung Galaxy Watches

Garmin

We’re returning your vote to you so please come back to ideas.trainerize.com to add your vote to other ideas.
Thanks!
We will not allow manual entry of steps as this

Here is how I solved for this for myself. I don't need trainerize to be able to write steps to apple health but I want it to read steps even manually entered ones so go into health settings and prohibit Trainerize from writing but leave reading enabled. Then you can enter steps manually without trainerize deleting them.

Trainers can manually add a caloric burn value per 60 minutes, the member then puts time value in i.e 45 min or 90 min for that day's workout caloric value, it is added to daily allotted caloric intake value. in My fitness pall app i use a custom cardio workout to do this to calculate the caloric burn for weight training.

Currently if I don't wear my fitness tracker I can't track my workout stats. I would like the ability to input manually my calories heart rate, distance intensity power output , avg. heart rate. For example if i do a HIIt Class i can only enter time and nothing else. I would like to be able to manually input my zones when I play basketball. or other.

What an idiotic logic is this? Cheat the System? People can cheat everything then like reps, load, of the exercise & so on.
Give us the manual steps & sleep entry option.

not everyone has fitbit or apple watch so allowing manual data input for steps would be a useful improvement

So sick of all the money we are suppose to waste just to use your app. I have a bettermeband which you don't connect to. I just want all my health information in one place otherwise none of it is helpful in any way. I just spent way too much money on a coach and for this program and I am not about to spend even more on a ******** Apple Watch! Who cares about cheaters, let them cheat, they won't get the results. But for the ones who actually want results, why would you NOT allow manual entry? Otherwise, let me out of my $2100 contract with you.. Capitalism at it's worst! This proves to me that you don't care about people's health!

I agree, we can manually enter sleep and weight already why is this any different? Please give the option for manual entry. Also can we add one for water intake too?

“Cheat the system?” You can manually enter so much other information, why would anyone want to cheat their steps? This app is for coaches to help clients, but it’s harder for us to help them if we can’t see what their steps are without having to use external means, which is inefficient. I’ve never understood not being able to add steps. Not everyone can afford or should need to buy something that works with the app. Please fix this.

Can we finally have a steps counter or some way that clients can enter the amount of steps they have done each day. It's a basic and important feature. A lot of people don't have smart watches

Ugh. This might be a deal breaker for me. This is such a basic feature and having clients who cheat seems like a different issue than not having clients track basic goals.

Why can we only sync with apple health? I have android, why can't we sync with Samsung health?

Having clients specifically add their own step count will be so helpful as some clients don't have the correct technology to integrate and it is unfair on them to be unable to participate fully in the app and could hinder their results over time as we (as coaches) don't 100% know what they have been doing!
I found a post about this earlier which explained why the app doesn't allow this so it would be great to either have more integrations or an automated thing that does not allow those to enter their step count manually to partake in the step competition they were speaking about.

I really hope Trainerize reconsiders adding a Samsung Health integration in the near future. In the meantime, it would be a happy medium solution if clients can enter their data (i.e. steps) manually in the app. And/or when clients complete a walking workout, they can add their steps/distance. Otherwise, this app has truly been a God send for my business. Thank you 👏🏾

Would really like it if this could be done. I could add steps manually to my apple fit app which would then sync but I no longer have the iPhone.
Surely this is the same as being able to add heart rate and blood pressure. -

Hi, It would be great to have more ability to enter detailed body stats to manage client body stat information.
Currently in terms of body compisition information, you can enter body fat percentage and total weight. There is then an automated calculation of body fat and lean muscle in kilograms that is not accurate in comparison to a gold standard dexa body composition scan. It is quite inaccurate depending on the person and their actual numbers.
It would be great if these body fat and lean muscle kilogram amounts could at least be another manual entry just like body weight and body fat percentage, so we can better track the real data. I won't use the body fat percentage function as the automated data that follows is so inaccurate compared to my clients scans and real information, I find this really limiting.
Would love to see the capacity to update this other composition details ourselves.
Thank you. -

Any update on this? it would be great if we could add a reminder to their calendar to log steps manually for all the watches that don't sync with this app!

Any change to this outcome? I have clients with Garmin etc and would love it we could add 'log steps' manually into the calendar?
