Clear Workout Structure with Expandable Sections
Clear Workout Structure with Expandable Sections
It would be a great improvement to have clearly labelled tabs or sections for parts of the workout — such as:
• Warm-up
• Pre-fatigue
• Main Exercise/Focus
• Strength
• Conditioning
• Circuits
• Cooldown
How it could work:
• Each section would be clearly named so clients immediately know what they’re looking at.
• Sections could be collapsible (stackable), meaning once a client finishes a part, they can minimise it.
• When a client first opens their workout, they would only see the key sections — helping the workout feel clear, focused, and not overwhelming.
• Clicking into a section would expand it to show exercises, targets, instructions, and spaces to record results or notes.
Why it would help:
• Clients can easily understand the flow of the session: where the warm-up ends, where the main focus begins, and how to cool down properly.
• Keeps the app clean, organised, and simple to navigate — especially for clients who may feel overwhelmed seeing a long list of exercises all at once.
• Helps coaches guide the intent of the session more clearly (e.g., focusing more on strength one day, or conditioning another).
Business Benefits:
• Makes the app more user-friendly and professional and cleaner look.
• Improves client satisfaction and program adherence.
• Gives coaches more structure when designing workouts, improving overall program quality.
• Competitive advantage: Other platforms (e.g., TrueCoach) do this well — implementing it here could match or even beat their experience.
Overall, this feature would make sessions feel more intentional and easier to follow, improving both the coaching experience and client results.

Many of my clients find the workout structure confusing because sessions don’t have clearly labeled sections (e.g., Primer, Main Lift, Accessory, Conditioning). While exercises are listed in order, there’s no visual separation or headers to explain the flow of the workout.
For structured strength programs, this lack of clarity impacts client confidence and experience. Many modern coaching platforms now offer clearly defined workout blocks and section labeling, which makes sessions much easier to follow.
It would be a big improvement to allow coaches to add visible section headers or dividers within workouts.

This is a brilliant idea and would make a huge difference for my clients. I've found that using a clear, structured format for workouts really helps people stay focused, especially when they're training on their own. In fact, I recently started sharing simple, done-for-you program guides through my Shopify https://shopify.pissedconsumer.com/review.html store, and the feedback has been amazing—it's been a great way to offer extra support and build my business on the side. A feature like this built directly into Trainerize would be an absolute game-changer for keeping everything streamlined in one place. Thanks for suggesting this, I really hope the team picks it up.

This would greatly improve the workout experience, it’s frustrating not being able to section out workouts.
