Auto-Pair Uploaded Workouts with Scheduled Program Workouts
I’d like to suggest a feature that would significantly enhance the integration between wearable data (like Garmin) and scheduled workouts within Trainerize.
The Problem: Currently, when a client completes a workout on their Garmin (or other device) and it syncs with Trainerize, the session is uploaded as a general workout and does not automatically match or merge with the corresponding scheduled workout in their program. This results in two separate entries on the calendar. One from the watch, and one from the plan, making it difficult to track progress accurately and creating confusion, especially for clients who are data-driven.
Why It Matters: In Community Competitions: For example, in a city-wide challenge, a workout only counts if it's the scheduled session. Uploaded watch data doesn’t pair, so even if the client did the workout exactly as planned, it doesn’t get logged correctly for the challenge.
For Data Accuracy: Having two separate workouts (one scheduled, one completed) clutters the calendar and creates issues with consistency, metrics, and data tracking particularly for clients who rely heavily on structured data and progression tracking.
TrainingPeaks Comparison: In platforms like TrainingPeaks, uploaded workouts can be auto-paired or manually matched to the planned session, avoiding duplication and ensuring better data hygiene. This keeps the calendar tidy and useful for analysis.
Suggested Feature: Introduce an auto-pairing or manual match function that: Recognizes when an uploaded workout from Garmin (or other services) closely matches the time, duration, and activity type of a scheduled workout.
Either auto-pairs the data or gives the user (or coach) the option to manually link the uploaded activity to the planned session.
Replaces or merges the planned workout with the completed one, similar to the behavior seen in TrainingPeaks.
This would make the platform more intuitive and appealing to both coaches and clients who want cleaner, more accurate performance data.
Thanks for considering!
