Help shape what we build next for the AI Workout Builder 🤖💪
We’re actively working on improving the AI Workout Builder—and we want your input.
What should we build next?
This is the place to suggest, discuss, and vote on new AI features you’d love to see. Your feedback directly helps us prioritize what comes next.
Some examples of ideas we’re exploring (just to spark inspiration):
- Multiple workouts in a single chat (generate variations or a series without starting over)
- Creating full programs with AI, not just individual workouts
- Conversation history, so you can revisit, tweak, or continue past AI sessions
Have a different idea? Even better.
Post it below and explain how you’d use it in your coaching workflow!
Thanks for helping us build an AI tool that actually fits the way you coach 🙌

Love the idea integrating AI to help us coaches with the work load. Hoping it will be more accurate on generating workouts though, cause sometimes after tweaking exercises within the draft, the final generated workout would be different.
Also, i hope it could assist on making the whole program that can be edited and tweaked not just a workout.
AI food scanner would be a game changer for clients to use!

I like to write full programs out on paper or in a word document so I can move it around. I love that with the workout builder you can copy in the text and it will build the program from that - then you just need to tweak it for delivery.

I agree with some of the other posts that this could be a negative of making trainers lazier, but the way I would want to use it is different. The most annoying part of creating workout plans is actually formatting the workout in the builder. Searching, dragging and dropping, adjusting reps and sets…etc. I would like to use this AI to dictate or just type generally what I want and it actually creates the program in the builder. I wrote my clients plan on paper at work while I was planning it out, and I put that in the prompt box to create that workout, but it said it couldn’t do it when that’s exactly what I want it to do. I choose the exercises, sets, reps, and everything else, and the AI just builds the plan in the app.

very disappointed that AI is being integreated into this app, no one really asked for this & there are many other things we'd rather you fix up, like the constant bugs, clients being shown other clients programs, master programs bugging, not being able to pause a clients payment etc. & to up the rates that we pay just because of this AI addition that no one asked for, feels unfair.
also it feels very unethical to have AI design a workout when its quite literally what clients are paying us to do. this will continue to decrease the quality of coaching out there.
i would prefer this feature be scrapped completely & focus on fixing issues that have been around for years.

I think instead of trying to make "our work easier" this will make us as trainers look lazier if the clients figure out it is just a generic workout from chat-gpt! it will devalue our services and cause us to lose clients! the way it should have been implemented was to make as an actual assistant, for example we still have to manually make progressions on clients programs ( weights or reps) this could have been much more useful if it was an assistant that can do progressions based on a clients history of specific exercise. another example that it could be useful (instead of just throwing a cookie-cutter workout) would have been something in tunes of reports of the clients progression, aka visuals for runners, swimmer or specific lifts . At the current status this A.I at best is a workout template producer. which can be ok for a company that only charges $5 for a program! but if you are an actual coach, this is just a slap in the face!

I agree with a lot of the other comments; this needs the ability to build/edit full programs. The ability to modify an existing workout would be most helpful. I have a library of go-to workouts for my clients and edit based on each client, so this would be the most helpful for me.
Also, the ability for voice prompts instead of just typing would be amamzing. -

Still waiting YEARS for weekly and monthly data averages.
The current AI workout builder is not that useful yet. I prefer control over my clients workouts, giving them specific videos and bespoke progressions that they can stick too. Otherwise they'd just go to ChatGPT and do it all for free.
AI workout builder looks bad if clients see it, makes us coaches look lazy.

I actually couldn’t get the ai builder to save the workout even though it was “saved in library” nothing appeared

I'm looking for more than just workouts to build.
I'd like to build out an entire program eg: 4 day split / 6-week program with progressions.
Then I need that to plug into the client's program/ calendar. The integrity of my programs is important to me, so while the AI is there, and can cut down on some workload, it's important it's easily modified by my once it's created.
Hope that makes sense

Asked to build a progression on 1 workout in their current program, this is the answer:
So what is it useful for, unless you are a brand new coach? Thanks for your request! I can’t assist with program progressions or editing current plans, but I’d love to help design a fresh, personalized workout based on upper body and accessory goals. Let me know the details, and we’ll create something great together!

Clients existing run data could be used to build graphs and timelines in their dashboard. Same for swimming, clients are less willing to log because not seeing the bigger picture (weights get PB's and thumbs up etc more often)

Agree with other comments, must do clients whole program this is a feature we've long been asking for outside of AI. Muscles get trained across the week, I want them doing quads split across 3 of their 4 sessions for example.
Currently I plan a program externally, then type their exercises in. AI could reduce this triple-checking have I covered all muscles/goals within a week. Also running, please allow progressions and better tracking of their runs to give structured run programs. I.e sprints 100m on/200m walk, 1km @ pace etc with progressions to increase over time without manually making each one

As someone else mentioned, it needs the ability for full program buildout, not just one workout at a time. This is advertised as being "Better than outside AI apps" because it exists within trainerize, but outside AI apps can easily build out entire programs, advanced structures, progressions, regressions, etc. This needs at least the ability to make a full program at a time. Also, editing. I know you're adding it, but as of right now, there isn't really much to rate this on. You can type in a prompt, and it can output a basic program. That's it. There isn't much functionality here for us to review or give feedback on. Please get the editing and refinement features updates quickly so we can beta test the product to it's full capacity.

Biggest feedback, the AI needs to support full program import and buildout, not just one workout at a time.
As a coach, I already have proven programs in my notes/docs. I should be able to paste or upload my program structure, and the AI should build it inside the app using the Trainerize exercise library, videos, and workout formatting. That would make this feature actually useful in real coaching.
Second, editing is a major need, but I know that is coming soon. Being able to edit exercises, sets, reps, rest, and workout order after the AI generates a workout is essential.
The next level would be AI that is smart enough to make coaching suggestions over time, not just create workouts. It would be amazing if it could use client progress and workout history to suggest progressions, exercise swaps, volume changes, and deloads.
Having this same kind of AI support for nutrition would be a huge win too, especially if it can use client goals, adherence, and progress data to suggest adjustments.

Hello! Would love a AI scaner of the food tracker, that would be wild. So clients don't need to put the food on a scale. Just scan it.

I should be able to give a prompt like "Look at [client name] workout program and history for the past month. Suggest improvements and progressions."

Can we add section to each exercise for recording notes, band color used if band exercise or video/photo upload

Doing a 2 or 3 workout per chat to calibrate a full week of workouts, so you're not doing the same exercises in workouts in the same week.
Also the workouts that are made through AI are these saved in the library of workouts, or only with that one client?

creating full programs given the clients preferences, strengths, weakness....including mobility work for warm up and stretching/cooldown. I work at a gym that does metabolic testing. It would be amazing to be able to include VO2 max and RMR/Lean mass data so that we could ask AI how to optimize their programs given their goals. Great stuff!
