Simpler Exercise Progressions
Suggested Improvement: Simpler Exercise Progressions
Currently, coaches need to schedule workouts into the calendar before they can add progressions to exercises. This adds extra steps and time when building training plans.
A simpler approach would be to allow progressions to be added directly to each exercise within the workout template itself.
For example:
Session 1
- Squat: 2 x 5 reps
The coach could then add a progression rule such as:
Next time Session 1 is performed
- Squat: 3 x 5 reps with this Tempo Or:
Week 1: 2 x 5 reps
Week 2: 3 x 5 reps
Week 3: 3 x 6 reps
When the athlete completes the session and repeats it, the app would automatically apply the next progression without the coach needing to schedule each workout individually in the calendar first.
Benefits
- Saves coaches time when building programmes.
- Makes progression setup more intuitive.
- Reduces the need for repetitive calendar scheduling.
- Allows coaches to build progressive programmes directly within the workout template.
- Creates a smoother experience for both coaches and athletes.
- Means they can can perform this session any day of the week and the progression will be automatically added.
- better for group and 1 to 1 coaching.
In short, coaches should be able to define how an exercise progresses each time the session is repeated, with the app automatically applying those changes when the next occurrence of that session is performed.
