    Message threads and hashtags in messages would add so much value. Right now I'm looking at creating multiple groups to combat this issue, but that too seems clumsy.

    Absolutely agreed. The MY PROGRESS screen should be set by the trainer. And allow the trainer to use best practices for their expertise.
