Yes please, Tempo is so crucial. At this point in time I have to add it in via a note

It would be good to have a tempo option on the exercises. I usually write it in where the reps are but it would be useful to track

I agree. Tempo is critical to my style of coaching and it's pretty frustrating not to have this.

I don’t know why this isn’t implemented yet. Tempo training is a NEED! Highly considering switching platforms along with the trainers I know because of the LACK of Tempos for workouts.

When designing workouts, being able to add the tempo for each exercise is a must. We have sets, reps, rest time but no tempo. meaning in the notes we have to manually type this all out. If there was an option to enter the 4 digit tempo number it would make life a lot easier. MyPThub has this feature. I think Trainerize should add this in too now.

Formated X-X-X-X for concentric phase, pause after the concentric, eccentric phases, and pause after the eccentric.
E.g.
Cable Bicep Curl Facing Out - 4-2-1-0

Tempo of exercises:
(__-__-__-__) most exercises have 4 phases and when writing a tempo I start with the beginning of the movements:
so lets say bench press
3-1-1-2 = 3 second lowering, 1 second pause, 1 second up, 2 second pause at lock out.
or 2-x-x-x = 2 seconds down, no pause, fast up and no pause....
then we can drastically vary the exercises without having to create new exercises and descriptions for our clients each time we want to change the tempo.
We can have the same exercises done differently for a bodybuilder or an explosive athlete with little change to the program.
it would also be good if this could be periodized in the 'advanced workout builder' option -

When I started using the app I was surprised (disappointed) not to see this feature. Please do add this in a future update, it's intrinsic to my style of coaching.

Thank you for sharing your expertise, Anonymous. Some of us equally qualified coaches would like our clients to move through a controlled tempo to learn better motor control. Or we would like to introduce isometric contraction within the rep. Or we would like to simply ask our clients for an explosive contraction, regardless of the actual bar speed. Or we would like to emphasize a heavy eccentric for the simple fact that our clients love the feeling, and it's what gets them excited to actually train consistently.
Tempo is a tool, and it can be used to accomplish many things.

If you search “bar velocity motor unit recruitment” and find some studies / research reviews, you guys will understand that tempo is dynamic and shouldn’t be the same each rep / set. Imagine taking a set to failure - would you consider that you’ve hit failure just because you couldn’t maintain the tempo? No. You’re welcome
