An error occurred while saving the comment Nat commentedDitto for this. I assign portions for the entire day, and have recommendations per meal (for example, 1-2 portions of protein per meal) but the goal is to eat a certain total by the end of the day. The portions per meal are just recommendations to help spread the total out across all meals. So if I want 5 portions of protein/day, they might want to do 2 for their first meal, 1 for their second, and either 2 for their last one or 1 for each of the last two meals they eat (if they decide to eat 4x that day instead of 3x). If I were to just say "2 portions of protein per meal" and they decide to eat 4x that day, they'd have 8 portions of protein that day instead of just 5. That's not necessarily harmful, but makes it hard to prescribe portion recommendations accurately while still being flexible for clients, and forces us to set strict recommendations that under- or overshoot daily targets unnecessarily.

An error occurred while saving the comment Nat commentedThere is a suggestion requesting notes for each exercise that I believe is either under review or planned right now. However, it would be great to track RPE/RIR for each exercise as its own metric (just like sets/reps, except maybe you could turn it on/off if you didn't need it), that way you can see if someone's RPE is going up or down or maintaining for that exercise.
When programming for strength (especially competitive powerlifters), I assign RPE for each set for their main main lifts, and even recommend loads on subsequent sets based on the RPE value of the previous exercise, etc. So having an RPE metric option not just for each exercise, but actually for each SET of a given exercise (again, just like load/reps), would be extremely helpful for more nuanced programming.

An error occurred while saving the comment Nat commentedThis would be a game changer for the app, as well having more space when writing exercise-specific programming in the textbox, more nuanced programming (assigned progression schemes), a readiness check before each workout like TrainHeroic to assess recovery, etc.
I like a lot of things about Trainerize, but by far, the programming section is the most important and the most disappointing compared to other coaching/training apps. I chose this one because it was the most intuitive/user friendly and had the most features outside of programming. However, it definitely puts the least amount of focus on the training/programming section of the app/site, when compared to apps like Everfit, TrueCoach, Train Heroic, etc. I still use FitNotes (which is just for personal workout tracking) for myself instead of Trainerize (which I use for clients) because FitNotes is SO much better for programming and tracking workouts with lots of great features, and it doesn't even have a desktop version where you do the programming from like Trainerize and most other coaching apps. You do it all in the app and it still works great. Obviously the desktop version is important for programming meso/macrocycles of programming, etc. But you can barely do that in Trainerize anyway.....yeah.

An error occurred while saving the comment Nat commentedThis would be excellent. Not just for Bayesian but in general. I often have different progression schemes for primary compounds, secondary compounds, isolations, etc. Even if I'm just able to categorize the exercises for a client with specific progression models and being able to hover over the exercise to be reminded of that exercise's progression scheme would be great.
Basically having this app's progression spreadsheet mimic more of the ACTUAL spreadsheets I used to use and still often have to use to supplement the app.

Like others have said as well, it's harder to learn/maintain the portion-tracking habit when clients just have one task to complete at the end of the day that says "2 portions of protein per meal." If the folks tracking macros/calories need to log every meal to track it, then folks using portion guides should also need to go in and check off how many portions of protein/carbs/veggies/fats they have each meal as well, and how close they are to hitting or exceeding their portion targets for the day, just like calories/macros. If it could be combined with meal photos/food journal that would be even better.
