Coach / Trainer - ABC Trainerize

We are continually upgrading your fitness app with new features based on your feedback. Please add a new idea, or vote on an existing idea. This ensures your ideas don't get lost and always visible and other users can upvote your ideas. The idea forum allows us to keep a pulse check on what our user community as a whole wants.

Why should I vote?
This forum allows us to more accurately prioritize ideas to ensure a system of fairness by executing on improvements needed more urgently by a larger cohort of our user community, in order of voting priority. It offers you transparency into what we're reviewing, starting and have completed.

Vote subscribes you to the idea so when its status changes, you'll get notified.

When does an idea get picked up?
The higher the votes, the more likely the idea will be completed but there is no fixed formula if an idea will be picked up as it is just one avenue we look at. The idea forum is only one of the many avenues we use to evaluate an idea's feasibility. We also factor in your conversations with our support team, in-app surveys, Facebook beta groups,  complexity of the idea, talks with our inner circle of users and how it fits with the overall vision of the platform.

For example, "Portuguese support" was for the longest time in our top 3. But embarking on that would significantly dent our ability to serve our primary English speaking community effectively.

Thanks!

  1. Favourites Section for Client Exercises

I’d like to suggest a feature that could help both coaches and clients when it comes to navigating the extensive exercise library: a “Favourites” section for exercises on the client side.

    Problem:
With so many similar exercise variations in the library (e.g. “Walking Lunges” vs. “Dumbbell Walking Lunges”), clients often click on the wrong version when completing workouts. As a result, their tracked weights from previous sessions don’t carry over, which interrupts the flow of their training and makes progressive overload harder to manage.

    Suggestion:
Adding a “Favourites” or “Saved Exercises” section would allow clients to easily find and use…

  2. 🔥 We Need Threaded Conversations on the Community Board (like on Facebook)

Right now, the community board only allows standalone comments. There’s no way to reply directly to a post or keep a conversation together. This makes it hard to actually have a conversation; discussions end up scattered, and clients lose interest quickly.

On platforms like Facebook, threaded replies and “hot conversations” (the most active threads) rise to the top. This keeps communities alive, makes it easy for new members to jump in, and builds real engagement.

Adding threaded conversations to Trainerize would let us:

    Boost client engagement and retention

Keep conversations organized and easy to follow

    Create stronger, more connected communities…

  3. Bilingual

I have a client that mostly speaks Spanish. She is having the hardest time adding her meals. Is there a way I can input them for her? Or can you make a bilingual app so it auto translates?

  5. Apple Health Food Data to Trainerize

I use a food delivery service that I cook at home. It automatically syncs to Apple heath showing a full breakdown of each meal. Would love this to sync to the Trainerize app automatically then I can add in trainerize if I had any snacks. There appears to be no option to share this Apple Food Data to the app!

  6. Pin messages in group chat & individual messages

Ability to pin messages in group chats and/or individual messages. I like having completed workouts, activity and habits toggled on in my group chats because we can all celebrate and cheer everyone on in their efforts. But when I post updates or important messages, they get lost in the feed. It would be really cool to be able to pin these messages so it's easier for clients to find them and not potentially miss them since I wouldn't expect everyone to check the group chat every single day.

  7. Automatically Update Check-In Forms When Changes Are Made

When making changes to check-in forms, the changes are not reflected when the form was already scheduled in a client's calendar. It would be helpful for those with custom programs if the changes made in the check-in form library automatically carried over to the pre-scheduled check ins.

  9. Movement Substitutions Auto-Populate in Upcoming Workouts.

I would love to see an option where substituting a movement in the training program or within an actual workout when training a client on my app live with a client can automatically fill in that movement in ALL of the upcoming scheduled workouts under the same name.

Example: Workout 1, scheduled to be repeated on Mondays for 8 weeks.
    Superset 1:
    1a) Goblet Squat
    1b) Pull-up

    Superset 2:
    2a) Dumbbell Bench Press
    2b) Barbell Romanian Deadlift

I learn in the first session that a dumbbell row would be a much better option for this client than the pull-up, so…

  11. Allow us to copy and paste meal plans like we do with workouts so we don't have to adjust the meals repeatedly

I have many clients that fall into the 1900 to 2200 calories per day with a balanced plan. Once I swap out meals to suit my clients better it would be efficient if I could save that meal plan, import it to a new client and only have to make a couple or no changes to it.

  12. Education section

There needs to be an "Education" section or portal that is separate from workouts. Clients need to be able to refer to videos uploaded by the trainer for basic education for true remote coaching. This is already available on other apps and if not added makes Trainerize fall behind the competition

  14. Add More Simple, Batch-Cook, Bodybuilder-Style Meals

Many of my clients prefer — and see the best results from — straightforward, batch-friendly meals without extra sauces, toppings, or complicated ingredients.

I’d love to see the Smart Meal Plan Master Library include more classic bodybuilding staples like:

Proats: oatmeal, whey isolate protein powder, berries

Chicken & Rice: grilled chicken ******, rice, steamed veggies

Ground Turkey & Sweet Potato: with green beans or broccoli

Egg Whites & Ezekiel Toast: with avocado or spinach

Salmon & Quinoa: with asparagus or zucchini

These types of meals are easy to prepare in bulk, macro-friendly, and ideal for athletes, competitors, and clients who…

  15. A faster way to add a large number of daily weigh-ins from a client's records.

As it is now there are 8 clicks required to enter each weigh-in for a client on the website. I have clients with months of daily weigh-ins that feel like they're starting over by me switching them to Trainerize from the previous app we used and now I'm painstakingly adding hundreds of weigh-ins for clients. It would be great to have a calendar or list view of dates a month or week at a time with the blank weigh-in fields to just click and type the data and then a save button at the top or bottom to save all…

  17. Nutrition target phases

Hey all! My suggestion is to add phases to nutrition targets just like you can add phases/cycles to a training program. Eg. 8 week calorie deficit, 2 weeks of maintenance, then another 8 week calorie deficit etc.

With a big group of clients it can be pretty challenging to stay on top of who is ready to transition to maintenance or a diet break and back to their calorie deficit, resulting in lots of screenshots on my desktop to keep track of their deficit and maintenance calories between their phases as we currently have to edit their existing target manually,…

  19. Integrate AI chat into the app

Add AI chat into the app so you can ask it to find recipes based on what ingredients you specify. Very easy to do using RAG based model.

Use AI to upload a photo of a recipe you have, then creates the new recipe for you with break down of macros.

  20. Add modifications to exercises in the workout library.

Adding more modifications to the exercise library. Or being able to connect modifications to an exercise in a workout. i.e. in the workout I add regular pushups. Instead of in the notes adding modification instructions or adding knee pushups as a separate exercise in the workout. Attaching the knee pushups to the regular ones when I add it in the workout.
