More Challenge Options for Clients
Would love to see more options for completing challenges. At the moment clients can only earn points by completing a limited list of options including habits, workouts, PB's etc.
I'd love to run challenges where points can be added by ticking off a specific task or habit such as "complete a wall sit". In addition, there could be a section to write in the result, such as time or weight. This would allow us to have a winner based on the tracked results.21 votes -
Substitute Exercises
It would be amazing to have a small drop down menu below every exercise where I can put what exercises a client should sub with if needed, little space for 1-3 options. Easy scroll and choose and it automatically switches into the workout. Clients searching on their own substitute exercises is a pain.

Allow Custom Macros to Integrate with Meal Planner & Recipe Recommendations
As a coach working with clients across multiple levels and goals (from fat loss to athletic performance), custom macros are a non-negotiable part of individualized programming. Many of us currently upload macros manually, but clients lose access to meal planner features and recipe recommendations when we do.
We need the ability to:
✅ Upload custom macros for clients
✅ AND allow those clients to receive appropriate recipe suggestions & daily meal planning based on those targetsWhy this matters:
• This would streamline the client experience by keeping nutrition all in one place
• Clients are more likely to follow through when they can meal plan directly from personalized targets
• It would eliminate the current “either/or” limitation between precision nutrition and app functionality
• It supports trainers offering hybrid or fully online programs without sacrificing personalizationCoaches need flexibility. Clients need clarity. This feature would unlock both.
Thank you for considering this improvement!

nutrition and macro split
set different calorie and macro targets within the same week based on training days vs rest days? For example, higher carbs on workout days and lower carbs/higher fats on non-training days. this need to be a priority to fix

Save meals the client likes, they can save it too.
And to add in homemade recipes and save those custom meals.

Allow clients to create their own recipe without requiring the trainer to purchase the advanced nutrition coaching add on.
I understand that you recently added the ability for clients to create custom recipes in the in app meal tracker. However, this requires the trainer to pay for the advanced nutrition add on. I don't create meal plans for my clients, and I wouldn't use any of the other features that are available for that add on. For me to pay an additional $45/month so my clients can add their favorite recipes just doesn't make sense. Due to the fact that the in app meal tracker is still lacking this function, I still have quite a few clients who choose to use MFPal instead (and we all know the syncing issues that comes with that). I feel like creating recipes is standard in most food tracking apps these days, but we, as trainers are being asked to pay for this so that our clients can use it?

Option to prescribe single ingredient 'meals' & adjust recipe in NEW Flexible Meal Planner
The ability to prescribe single ingredient meals or snacks from the ingredients on the meal tracker like fruit or a coffee & the ability to adjust the portions of each ingredient within a recipe for a select client. Eg. 100g chicken 100g rice 150g veggies for one client then 150g chicken, 80g rice, 150g veggies for another client with different macro goals

number of meals per day
Please allow the ability to adjust the number of meals per day to any number the client prefers NOT based on how many calories.

Water tracker revamp
I love that we now have a water tracker. However, it seems a little incomplete and doesn’t really encourage drinking water.
I feel like this would be so much better as a habit, that way you can decide which clients get it, instead of it being on everyone’s dash board.
It would also help to set a specific goal for individual clients and when they reach the goal it comes up with a great job, like when they complete their workouts.

Intra-Workout Notes (Persistent Week-to-Week)
Problem:
Clients want to log quick notes during workouts (e.g., effort level, reps in reserve, fatigue, technique cues), but there’s no easy way to do this inside Trainerize without switching apps or losing context.
Requested Feature:
Add a notes field directly beside each exercise (or set) that:
- Can be written during the workout (mid-set / between sets)
- Carries over week-to-week (like weights/reps do)
- Is visible to both client and coach
Allows coaches to review and respond to notes
Use Cases:
“Last 2 reps needed momentum”
“Felt gassed on set 3, needed extra rest”
“Strong first set, big drop-off after”Outcome:
Better tracking of effort, performance, and fatigue → improved coaching decisions and client self-awareness without leaving the app.

Have product links accessible from the mobile app
It's annoying to have to use the desktop, email the link to self, and then text the product link.

Allow for 100% Customizable Meal Plans for Client Simplicity
Some clients do not want recipes, but instead they just want to follow a simple ingredient list of foods per meal. Nothing fancy but as simple as it gets, and of course, that meets their macros.

A way to see the history of changes to the macros
For example if you start someone on a certain macro breakdown and then adjust, I think it would be helpful to have a place to see the history of the previous macros

Bring back the old layout.
The new update does not allow you to revert the app layout back to the old version. The new app layout isnt user friendly. The text is hard to read due to the font style and size. Please bring back the legacy layout option so we can choose which layout best suits our clientele.

Input delay for MyFitnessPal
My clients and I have been experiencing a significant delay regarding inputting meals into MyFitnessPal and seeing them reflected in Trainerize in a timely manner.
Additionally, the macros I set within the nutrition goals are not automatically syncing with MyFitnessPal either, and if they want to mimic exact macros they have to pay for premium??? That isn't right.

🔥 We Need Threaded Conversations on the Community Board (like on Facebook)
Right now, the community board only allows standalone comments. There’s no way to reply directly to a post or keep a conversation together. This makes it hard to actually have a conversation; discussions end up scattered, and clients lose interest quickly.
On platforms like Facebook, threaded replies and “hot conversations” (the most active threads) rise to the top. This keeps communities alive, makes it easy for new members to jump in, and builds real engagement.
Adding threaded conversations to Trainerize would let us:
Boost client engagement and retention
Keep conversations organized and easy to follow
Create stronger, more connected communities without needing to move to Facebook or other platforms
If you want your clients to feel more connected and engaged in your Trainerize community, please vote for this!

measurements
Have an in-app body scan that does their measurements, etc. My client uses Noom, and we compared her scan to my measurements, and they were almost exact. THIS WOULD BE AMAZING!!!
Noom offers an in-app body scan that uses a 10-second video to create a 3D avatar and calculate body composition metrics. Key Metrics: Body fat percentage, fat mass (lbs), lean mass (lbs), and waist-to-hip ratio.
