Feature requests, ideas and suggestions

We are continually upgrading Trainerize with new features based on your feedback. Please add a new idea, or vote on an existing idea. This ensures your ideas don't get lost and always visible and other trainers can upvote your ideas. The idea forum allows us to keep a pulse check on what our trainer community as a whole wants.

Why should I vote?
This forum allows us to more accurately prioritize ideas to ensure a system of fairness by executing on improvements needed more urgently by a larger cohort of our trainer community, in order of voting priority. It offers you transparency into what we're reviewing, starting and have completed.

Vote subscribes you to the idea so when its status changes, you'll get notified. 

When does an idea get picked up?
The higher the votes, the more likely the idea will be completed but there is no fixed formula if an idea will be picked up as it is just one avenue we look at. The idea forum is only one of the many avenues we use to evaluate an idea's feasibility. We also factor in your conversations with our support team, in-app surveys, Facebook beta groups,  complexity of the idea, talks with our inner circle of trainers and how it fits with the overall vision of Trainerize.

For example, "Portuguese support" was for the longest time in our top 3. But embarking on that would significantly dent our ability to serve our primary English speaking community effectively.

  1. Music track for motivation

    Add a music track to go with there workout! they can choose to add it on their last set! Or not
    I know I get a few more burpees done if a good track is on

  3. Add before and after fitness assessment photos to show visual progress in posture and joint function

    It would be great to add a section for initial fitness assessment photos and a retest of the fitness assessment photos to see visual progress

  4. make a tracker for how many people visit the website on a daily, weekly, monthly, etc. basis

    Provide a tracker in order to show how many people visit our personal website. Just to keep track of how much traffic we are getting.

  5. Client monthly calendar

    Add a monthly calendar per client in order for trainers and clients to be able to plan out and view upcoming and long term workout plans.

  6. See, Click & Drag Workout Templates to/within Calendar vs. opening various windows

    Have it so workout templates show in a column on a left-side bar with a client's calendar open on the main screen such that a trainer can see all workouts and simply drag/drop to a day on the calendar, avoiding the hassle and wait time of having to first click a day, then scroll through all workouts, select, wait til it's loaded, then repeat for other days. PLUS allow workouts to be clicked and dragged from one day to another day on the calendar, again avoiding the issue of opening windows and not being able to see the calendar.

    I would like to record a 500meter row but the metrics for cardio are in miles. i attempted to input .3miles but it was not accepted

  9. Have a timer when taking photographs so clients can take pictures of themselves

    All to often my clients are left in a position of embarrassment when having to take photographs of them selves. This leads to photos never being taken. With this feature clients would be able to take photographs privately without the help of a 3rd person

  10. more templates for calisthenics and plyometrics

    You need to add more features for drills in between exercises and also to add for the client that looks for a more of a body weighted type exercises.basically free of machime or devices. You can still incorporate dumbells with the plyometrics exercises as an advance movement

  11. drop and drag programs onto exercise days.

    Currently the system is very labor intensive. If I have a program that looks like this ABA BAB I have to enter each day individually into the calendar.
    Plus if I wish to enter an exercise like walking each day, I have to enter in each day, again adding to my work load. I simple tick like " do you want this program to be scheduled everyday?" would solve this.

  12. Lean Body Mass - don't include weight only measurements

    Hi.

    So I use the lean mass feature alot for my clients.

    However the graph can be a bit messy, as it plots days clients have recorded their weight without recording bodyfat.

    This means the graph plots 0kg and also the calculated lean mass (ie, 71kg), so the chart is all over the place.

    Cna you build a function that excludes these 0kg entries (ie, days when only the body weight is calculated)

  13. Client Time Zone Changes

    It would be useful for trainers to be able to change the timezone. Almost always my clients timezone is wrong when they set up their account which throws off their workout days... There's a big difference between Kansas USA and Kabul, Afganistan! Instead of contacting each client and relying on them to change it, the trainer should have that capability. Every client that's set up an account with me has had this issue recently.

  14. Repeat workouts and edit progressions by number of days instead of by days of the week

    I would like the ability to create programs and progress them easily without being limited to the 7 day model. I am currently creating a program within a 10 day split, There are 8 separate workouts performed over 10 days. The workouts then repeat with a rep progression. Unfortunately there is no way to enter progressions or repeat workouts except by day of the week. A platform that allowed repeat workout and progressions based on the number of days would allow much more versatility in program design. ie. repeat every 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 days etc.

  15. I would love to be able to modify client workouts and made adjustments from the app version!

    it's annoying that i can only make adjustments to my clients' plans while on my computer.

  16. Automatic Generation of Workout Programs from Trainer or Trainerize Exercise Library

    Being new to Trainerize.com, I had the experience of being a Sharecare Virtual Trainer on the online Sharecare platform and being able to use their fitness platform for the past 4 years. Before they took down the fitness platform this year, trainers were able to choose from a drop-down category the type of client they were targeting (example: Weight Loss), choose the phase level, choose the type of equipment available, choose the duration and frequency of the program (1-3 months), and pick the days that the client would be working out on.   17. Enable swiping to navigate the app.

    The app would be much more efficient, on both the client and trainer end, if swiping between messages, exercises in a workout, etc... were enabled.

  20. Integration with mailchimp to easily email active and remarket to deactivated clients.

    Be able to integrate with Mailchimp so I can get my list of clients in Trainerize and I can do my marketing mailers in MailChimp.

    It should be broken down into my Activated Clients list and Deactivated Clients list.
