Help shape what we build next for the AI Workout Builder 🤖💪
We’re actively working on improving the AI Workout Builder—and we want your input.
What should we build next?
This is the place to suggest, discuss, and vote on new AI features you’d love to see. Your feedback directly helps us prioritize what comes next.
Some examples of ideas we’re exploring (just to spark inspiration):
- Multiple workouts in a single chat (generate variations or a series without starting over)
- Creating full programs with AI, not just individual workouts
- Conversation history, so you can revisit, tweak, or continue past AI sessions
Have a different idea? Even better.
Post it below and explain how you’d use it in your coaching workflow! Thanks for helping us build an AI tool that actually fits the way you coach 🙌

Check In Form Filling System!
Really happy about the new check in form in-app BUT we need a specific tab that shows check in's that have been filled out with what date they were filled out & a space to mark as "reviewed". If you're not reviewing your check ins weekly as a coach, you are failing your clients in my opinion. Therefore we need a system where we can file these check ins and make SURE they are getting captured on the coaches end.

Adding RPE and Tempo. As well as adding an exercise for client to easily swap if needed.
Adding features like RPE and Tempo and being able to add an alternate exercise for your client to easily swap instead of searching through the entire exercise library. Also, being able to edit a clients program independently when added to a master program instead of having to add the workouts individually in order to edit.
For example I have a few ladies on a program but one of them has limitations and I’d like to give her options to swap a movement herself or be able to slightly edit hers program myself to fit her capabilities.

Being able to view the history of an exercise for each client when programming
It would be ideal to be able to see how a client has performed in the past for each exercise (if they have already done an exercise). It is possible to see the history of an exercise when the program is being performed but not when it is being built. Having this function would allow coaches to program faster, with more accuracy and client would have better results.

PR Boards for the clients (Personal Bests all listed together)
I feel the current "Personal Bests (aka PR) to Beat" runner for exercises needs to be updated. It currently showing
- Max weight ever
- Max volume ever
- Est 1 rep max (love this, I think it's the ultimate PR)
- Best 1, 5, 7, 10 rep PR's
- Then history
All limited into a runner showing 1 thing at a time. The upgrade that I feel will be better would be:
- Expand the runner into a PR Board
- With "best ever" for every rep number. (ex: 2x295, 3x285, 5x260, 8x230, 15x185, etc). The top ever for 1 set of each rep number
- When the same reps are hit with a higher weight: PR triggers, and replaces the last PR (Ex: hit 5x265)
- When the higher reps are hit with the same weight: PR triggers, and replaces both PR's (Ex: you hit 3x295. Now 3x285 got replaced, AND 2x295 is no longer a PR so it gets removed. Now you don't have a 2 rep max on the PR board. This saves space and prevents clutter, especially when people start doing bodyweight stuff for 20-40 reps)
- At the top would be the BIG BOYS (Definitely Highest Est 1RM ever, and you can also do volume and and max weight if you feel those are important too)
- History: I would consider either keeping this under the PR board like it is now. Or having it as a separate feed/pageWhy do you feel these changes are necessary?
- I have been using a separate workout tracker for myself for the last 5 years that does this great. RepCount. This week I have transitioned to using my client profile in Trainerize to be able to be involved in Groups and Challenges with my clients. I ALWAYS check the PR Board before my sets and try to hit some PR somewhere on the board (a new 5rm, 8RM, "what was my 9rm last time?")
- What was the coolest thing in a high school football locker room? Getting on the PR board. But instead of competing with others, let's allow our clients to compete with themselves.
- I hit a PR by hitting the weight I did last week for 5, for 6 today. I did NOT get a PR/PB medal at the end of the workout. This is objectively a PR and the biggest focus for our clients that want to build muscle and strength. I do not think we should ONLY count 1,3,5,7,10 rep sets specifically as the only PR's we track. You can even simplify the medal system for Personal Bests to just be a generic PR medal without having a specific rep associated with the medal. This way you don't have to now create 1-20 specific medals, like we currently have with 1,3,5,7,10 reps.
- When I tell clients to "hit 2 PR's every workout," and they hit a PR, but it wasn't 10 reps.. then I think that would be deserving still of some positive reinforcement of what I feel is the most important thing for building muscle and strength. (I am TOTALLY FINE with my clients feeling flooded by PR medals, it is super important that they are progressing)Ultimately, I love that we have a good history tracking system now. But, the PR/PB medal system can be updated to encourage more progression for our clients, objective visual data for what they need to hit to progress during a session, and this will help with the challenges and groups where hitting Personal Bests is even more incentivized.
(Context about me, been using Trainerize since 2018, coached >1250 clients on it since, and am a big fan. This is why I am so passionate about making it the best it can be. AND, I am now using it as my primary workout tracker. My history is a pro natural bodybuilder, team USA powerlifter, and I've trained for 16 years. I try to be in the trenches as well with my clients)
Thank you!

Generate Meal Plans to REDUCE Groceries
When generating a meal plan, try to reduce grocery ingredients needed by re-using the same spices, sides, vegetables and proteins over the week. It would be especially great to re-use items in the next day's snacks or meals by planning 'leftovers'. Example: have salmon for dinner Monday night, and salmon with crackers for snack Tuesday. This will save people time and money.

Trainer email + app push notifications for client completed check-in forms
When clients currently complete their check-in forms, there is no notification sent to the trainer via email or even an app push notification. Trainers have to manually review the "recent activities" section in the app to see if any check-in forms have been completed. Automatic trainer notifications for important high-priority tasks, like reviewing check-in forms, is vital.

Make the Macro split 100% customisable
Ability to customise macro split to individual needs. i.e. 45% protein, 20% carbs, 35% fat.
Also have the ability to customise meals, i.e. I get my clients to avoid carbs for breakfast if they train in the evenings or increase carbs post workout rather than having a even split of carbs throughout all meals1,875 votes -
Request for Multi-Language Support in Trainerize
Hi team,
I’d like to suggest adding multi-language support to Trainerize, including the most common European languages, such as Dutch, Spanish, German, French, and Italian. While Trainerize is an excellent platform, I’ve noticed that some of my potential clients face challenges using the app because it’s only available in English. This is especially true for older clients or those who feel more comfortable in their native language, and it often leads to losing clients during the onboarding process.
Providing multiple language options for the app interface and automated messages would make the platform more inclusive, allowing trainers to reach a broader audience across Europe. This improvement would significantly enhance the user experience, ensuring all clients fully understand and benefit from the platform.
Thank you for considering this suggestion, and I believe this would greatly improve the accessibility and usability of Trainerize.

Feature Request: Enhancing Nutrition Plan Flexibility & Customization
Dear Trainerize Support and Development Team,
I am writing to suggest a few enhancements to the Nutrition Plan module. These updates would significantly improve the coaching experience and provide clients with a more personalized and professional journey.
- Custom Day Labeling (Beyond Day 1, Day 2)
Currently, days are locked as "Day 1," "Day 2," etc. I recommend allowing coaches to rename these days.
- Use case: This is especially important for carb cycling or specific training phases (e.g., renaming a day to "High Carb," "Low Carb," "Refeed Day," or "Rest Day").
- Customizable Meal Names
Coaches should be able to rename generic labels like "Meal 1" or "Breakfast" to something more specific.
- Use case: Renaming meals to "Pre-Workout Meal," "Post-Workout Shake," or "Office Snack."
- Adding Individual Food Items (Raw Ingredients)
Instead of having to create a full recipe for every entry, it would be helpful to add single food items directly to a meal.
- Use case: Adding "200 g boiled potatoes" and "150 g grilled chicken" directly, without needing to create a separate recipe first.
- Dedicated Supplements Section
A separate section specifically for supplements, independent of the daily meal plan, would improve clarity and organization.
- Use case: Clearer tracking for vitamins, creatine, or protein shakes, with fields for dosage and timing.
- General Nutrition Notes & Description
A dedicated text box at the top or bottom of the nutrition plan for general instructions or daily habits (e.g., water intake) would allow coaches to provide broader guidance that applies across the plan.
Reference
To help your team visualize these improvements, I can provide references and screenshots of similar interfaces that successfully implement these features. One example is:
I believe following a similar structure would make the Trainerize nutrition module more intuitive and professional.
Conclusion
These updates would make Trainerize much more versatile for professional coaches who utilize advanced nutritional strategies. I’m happy to discuss these points further or share additional references if helpful.
Thank you for your continued efforts to improve the platform.
Best regards,
Essam Flex

coaches to be able to do side by side comparisons in clients progress photos
clients can do a side by side comparison of their photos in the app but as coaches we cannot on the web. Can we have this feature added so that when we are reviewing the clients photos we can see clearly how they are doing side by side please.

Better group chat functionality
In a world where communities are everything and the direction things are heading in - think Skool, Circle etc. the group chat feature in Trainerize is completely outdated and almost child like, in the emojis. It feels, not premium, but extremely basic. I love Trainerize, I have the Studio version and it's amazing. We run 8 weeks programmes for our clients and the group chat feature would be fantastic if it could mimic the functionality of either Circle or Facebook (which circle is based on). If it were to have a style and familiarity similar to Facebook in regards to the group / group chat, engagement would increase ten fold. It feels so clunky to use so I feel like, for the way the fitness industry is moving - groups, group coaching, communities etc. this is an absolutely essential piece.

Please restore the ability to show names of those signed up
Please restore the ability to see Only First names of other users signed up for a session. This helps with session planning and coordination. For those concerned with privacy and showing the names, give an option to individual users to not show their names when they sign up for a Session.
The feature to view user names should not be taken away completely, a recent app upgrade on 5/7/2025 has removed the ability to see who else is signed up for the session.
Please restore it with an option to Turn it off for specific users who do not want to see names or have their name displayed.

Weekly Average Steps, Calorie burn and Weight
its 2026... AI is going insane... yet we still don't have such simple metrics. Using a digital calculator to manually figure it out is ridiculous. Come on Trainerize, you can do it. Surely it's not that difficult to add an average to the data. Please. I'm begging for it.
