Feature requests, ideas and suggestions

We are continually upgrading Trainerize with new features based on your feedback. Please add a new idea, or vote on an existing idea. This ensures your ideas don't get lost and always visible and other trainers can upvote your ideas. The idea forum allows us to keep a pulse check on what our trainer community as a whole wants.

Why should I vote?
This forum allows us to more accurately prioritize ideas to ensure a system of fairness by executing on improvements needed more urgently by a larger cohort of our trainer community, in order of voting priority. It offers you transparency into what we're reviewing, starting and have completed.

Vote subscribes you to the idea so when its status changes, you'll get notified. 

When does an idea get picked up?
The higher the votes, the more likely the idea will be completed but there is no fixed formula if an idea will be picked up as it is just one avenue we look at. The idea forum is only one of the many avenues we use to evaluate an idea's feasibility. We also factor in your conversations with our support team, in-app surveys, Facebook beta groups,  complexity of the idea, talks with our inner circle of trainers and how it fits with the overall vision of Trainerize.

For example, "Portuguese support" was for the longest time in our top 3. But embarking on that would significantly dent our ability to serve our primary English speaking community effectively.

  1. Ability to set high and moderate days for calorie target

    When I program a calorie goal for clients I tend to give them moderate calorie days and a few higher-calorie days which they will hit on a weekend to give them a bit more flexibility or they can use the higher calorie days on their more difficult training days.

    It would be nice to have the ability to set a calorie and protein target for a set amount of days rather than it being for the full week.

    A nutrition protocol tab could be a good idea. We could program the client their moderate and high-calorie days, give them macro…

  3. Listen to music and use workout timer

    When I give a client an interval workout with the timer on the app they cannot use the feature and listen to music on their headphones at the same time. They would like to utilize my HIIT workouts with your timer and be able to listen to their music on their phone at the same time.

  4. Total Volume for each major muscle within a program

    When the word "volume" is used in sport science research, it is referring to the number of total hard working sets per week (a hard working set is a set taken with 5 reps from failure). Yes this means that "high volume" means a lot of working sets, not a lot of reps.

    In order to track and progress volume, it would be good to see the number of sets sets programmed on a per muscle group basis. At the moment, the only way to do this is to manually count sets.

  5. Biofeedback Tracking with graphs

    Biofeedback information such as daily tracking of sleep, stress levels, Energy Levels, etc. So that we can see a chart of progress as these things improve. ie. Rate your stress levels from 1-10.

    Also Yes and No questions as part of tracking. ie.
    Did you experience any digestive issues today (Y or N)

  6. Custom tags

    Create custom tags for exercises. Ie “warmup” or “football” specific exercises.

  7. Ability to view progress of a group

    Show group level metrics of improvement. Leave some comments what group analytics you want to view based on your workflows.

  8. Ability to track servings of vegetables/protein through the day

    Right now, it's yes/no. It's better if the user could add a serving throughout the day to track their veggie/protein intake etc.

  9. Ability for trainers view their own appointments

    Be able to use the app to view my PT appts for the day.

  13. Habit set up from mobile

    Right now, I have to turn on my computer to set a habit for someone. I'd like to be able to do it on the spot from my phone. I'm not sure why the habit tab isn't available from mobile, but I'd really like it!

  14. Habit reminders at specific times

    I'd love to be able to set up reminders to pop up at specific times of day so clients don't have to also set up alarms and reminders in their own calendars

  15. Have a tab just for attachments (meal plans, lessons, links) they can easily access

    Along with dashboard & calendar, have a hub for attachments or links.
    I coach my clients, & give them lessons, etc. Itd be nice if they could access them all in one place.

  18. Be Able to Calculate Load Based on 1-RM

    I would love to be able to enter my athlete's 1-RM and then prescribe a percentage load for that exercise, so they can see how much weight to lift for certain lifts.

  19. Colour Code Clients Based On Tags

    I have a number of clients assigned to different programmes. It would be ideal to be able to identify them at a glance through colour coding. I would be able to see which clients have a 1-1 (increased contact) option and so need more check in. The tags are all grey in colour so they don't identify individual attributes that I need to account for

  20. Challenge Feature

    I want a Challenge Feature. I want to have the ability to give a group or an individual challenge. The feature should have a streak and completion badges.
